A/N

(Y/N) Your Name

"Signing"

"Talking"

(Y/N) woke up after a restless sleep. She flew over to the main area and met with Rocket. "Morning (Y/N)." Rocket signed.

"Morning." She returned.

"Maurice wanted to speak to you. He's in the Fair Forest. He said it's important." Rocket informed (Y/N).

"Really? Alright, thanks." (Y/N) flew to the Fair Forest. It was her's and Maurice's favourite place. Beautiful willow trees surrounded a clear pond. Maurice sat at the bottom of the largest tree.

"Hello (Y/N)." Maurice signed with a smile.

"Hey Maurice. What did you want to talk about?" (Y/N) asked. Maurice's smiled disappeared.

"Humans. A group of them were spotted close to the camp." He signed.

"What? I thought there were none left, except Nova and myself."

"That's what we all thought. But we're sure the humans don't know we're here."

"Did they have guns?"

"Only one. Four people were seen."

(Y/N) sighed and looked down, wondering what to do. Look for them and kill them? Help them? Leave them be? She looked back up. "We'll only tell Rocket, the watchers and the gorilla guard about this and to watch out for the humans. We don't want to cause a panic." Maurice nodded but a second later, a loud gunshot was heard. (Y/N) and Maurice wasted no time as they ran/flew over to the noise. (Y/N) landed in the main area and asked one of the gorillas what happened.

"Shot was heard in the forest, followed by a shriek from one of ours. Rocket and others are looking now." He signed. (Y/N) nodded and flew into the sky to where the apes were. She found the group as they surrounded a man who held a rifle aimed at the apes as the apes held their spears.

"Stay back! Stay back you animals!" The man yelled as he pointed his gun at each of the apes. (Y/N) hovered in the air and started to lower herself next to Rocket. The man gasped when he saw her and tried to shoot her but was shaking so much he missed each time. The bullets were close to hitting the apes but none of them did. Then he shot another bullet and it grazed (Y/N)'s left thigh.

She flinched at the sudden feeling of pain before Rocket snarled and leaped onto the man and beat him with his fists. After a few seconds, the man had been beaten to death and was lying on the floor motionless.

Rocket went back over to (Y/N) as (Y/N) stood up just fine. The bullet didn't do enough damage to create a big injury.

"Wait." She said. "I hear something... from over there." She said as she gestured towards a large tree. The apes heard it too. Rocket and another chimpanzee walked behind the tree and pulled out three people. They forced them to the ground.

"Hey!" The oldest, who looked to be in his early twenties, exclaimed as he held two younger boys close to him. He looked at the apes with horror. Then his expression turned to slightly shocked when he met eyes with (Y/N). (Y/N) continued to hold her hardened gaze with her red eyes as she looked at him and the other two.

"Who are you?" (Y/N) asked with her wings held up and her eyes still glowing red.

"M-my name's Damon." The eldest said, trying to seem intimidating. He had dark brown, almost black, hair and green eyes. "This is Liam." Damon said gesturing to the boy on his left who looked about fourteen. "And Andrew." The boy on his right who looked about nine. They all had similar hair colours and the same eye colour. "They're my brothers." He said.

"Stand up." (Y/N) spoke. The three boys stood up as the apes continued to point their spears at them. "Are either of your brothers infected?" (Y/N) asked. Damon nodded.

"Liam is." He said.

Rocket signed to (Y/N) from where he was standing, "What will we do with them?" He asked. (Y/N) looked to the boys.

"Caesar would never kill if he didn't have to... And I will forever stand by that. We'll let them stay for the rest of the day and one night." She signed. "Are there any other humans?" She asked Damon.

"Not that we know of. Our dad and one of his friends died earlier. That was another one of our dad's friends. So as far as we know, we're the only ones." Damon replied.

(Y/N) nodded before she and Rocket led the apes and humans back to the main part of their home. Majority of the apes went back to what they were doing before. (Y/N) brought Damon, Liam and Andrew over to Maurice followed by Rocket.

"Then we brought them back with us." (Y/N) had finished explaining to Maurice how they found the three boys.

"So where will they stay?" Maurice asked.

"I'll let them stay in my tree for the night. I'll sleep in the branches above them."

Liam and Andrew hung out with Nova. Nova helped Liam learn a few signs. (Y/N) sat with Damon and watch the three kids play. The three got along very well. "So how old are you?" Damon asked (Y/N), breaking the silence. (Y/N) looked at him with a neutral expression.

"21. You?"

"23." Both of them went back into a minute of silence before Damon continued the conversation. "How long have you lived with the apes?" (Y/N) exhaled deeply.

"It's a long story."

"Ok then...um, what about your wings?"

"Also a long story."

"...Well... how about I'll tell you about me... and then you tell me about you?" Damon offered with a slight smile, obviously just trying to be nice because frankly, he was kind of scared of the girl. (Y/N) looked at him. Something about this boy was strange, in a good way. And also intriguing.

"Fine." (Y/N) agreed.
