"Hello?" I answered the phone call, and now, we are both preparing to go back to reality.
"Tim's already awake. Where are you?" with that info, I felt mixed emotions. Of course I'm glad, and thankful that Tim was safe already.
But at the back of my mind. I'm anxious. Scared. Sad. Because I know, na ang kapalit ng paggaling ni Timothy, ay ang pansarili kong kaligayahan.
Nangako ako sa kanya na bibigyan ko sya ng chance. A promise is a promise. I am the reason why he chose to fight for his life. At kung magiging makasarili ako ngayon, para ko na rin syang pinatay sa sakit emotionally. I don't wanna do that. I don't want Timothy to suffer even more.
The drive took 4 hours. 10 AM ng makarating kami ni Mark sa Hospital.
Pinauna ako ni Mark na pumasok sa kwarto, dahil baka kung anong isipin ni Timothy kapag nakitang sabay kaming dumating.
Nervous. I knocked on the door and cracked it open. It was his Dad, that I first saw. He walks towards me as I stand on the doorway. He whispered something to me when he finally reached my position. "I know you are with Mark this past 2 days. I wanted to talked to you about that later." his deep, angry voice scared the shit out of me. He walked passed me while looking at me.
I composed my literally nervous self, and managed to fake a smile, before facing Timothy.
"Timothy?" I walked slowly to his bedside. He is currently sitting on his bed."Tim, it's me. Cassie. Your bestfriend." he looked at me confused, his eyebrows raced" do you still remember me? Can you see me?" I finally reached his bed. Still Tim was giving me confused and blank reaction.
Nagka amnesia kaya sya? Short term memory loss? At the devilish part of my mind. Umaasa akong OO.
"Tim? Answer me!" I'm in front of him now, Hindi na ako sa gilid ng kama nakaupo, kundi sa kama na mismo. Winawasiwas ko yung kamay ko sa tapat ng mukha ni Tim na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin umiimik.
"Anong sabi ng Doct..." hindi ko na natapos ang tanong ko dahil bigla nyang hinila yung kamay ko, at niyakap ako.
"I'm not blind, nor have an amnesia or something. I can still remember. You are Cass, the girl that I loved so much. The girl who promised to give me a chance. I can clearly remember everything Cassie"
Parang karayum na tinusok ako ng mga salita ni Timothy.Lahat bumabaon sa puso ko. Pakiramdam ko napaka unfair ko. Pakiramdam ko nagtaksil ako sa promise ko sa kanya dahil sa nangyari samin ni Mark kagabi. Feeling ko hindi ako deserving para sa pagmamahal nya.
"Thank God you are safe Timothy." tears start streaming my cheeks. Luha ng kaligayahan. Luha ng pagkaguilty. Luha ng pagkalito
"Are you okay Cassandra? why are you crying? Look at me.." ipinihit nya ang mukha ko sa paningin nya. "I'm fine now, magpapalakas nalang ako, and after that, I'm completely fine. Halika nga dito.." he grabbed my arms again and gave me a hug.
"Kung hindi sa pagkumbinsi mo sa'kin, malamang wala na ko. Salamat. Thanks for giving me motivations. for giving me reasons to continue life. I love you Cassandra."
Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko kay Timothy. Gusto ko na sanang sabihin sa kanya ang lahat, habang maaga. Habang hindi pa sya lubusang nageeffort. Habang hindi pa lumalalim ang nararamdaman nya para sa'kin.
With him still wrapped around me, I heard the door cracked open. Hindi ko alam kung sino ang pumasok, dahil nakatalikod ako sa pinto.
Pilit akong kumawala sa pagkakayakap ni Tim, para tingnan kung sino ang pumasok. Pero mas lalo nyang hinigpitan ang pagkakayakap sa'kin.
"Hey Bro! you're here!!" o no. It's Mark. Agggh. I heard him cleared his throath. I don't know what was his reaction because I can't see his face. I'm still stucked between Tim's arms.
"How are you Tim? I can see you recovering fast. Baka naman hindi na makahinga yang si Cassandra." he said jokingly, laughing in between his words.
"Yes, she's my strength bro! Haha" he responded, finally letting me go.
"That's so gay bro!" he said, laughing even harder.
I don't know if Mark is just putting a show, but I can't see any traces of sadness in his face. I wish kaya ko ring gawin yon.
Itago yung lungkot, at yung sakit.
"Thank's for convincing my brother Cassandra."
He smiled.
