Chapter 30

Today's lessons are finally over. You decided that it's already enough for today and go home. Well, not before being bothered by a certain blonde boy. You're trying to get away but the boy is so persistent so you follow him. Seems like Lucy has the same fate as you. Well, it's not like both of you don't want this. So you, Sting, Lucy and Natsu decided to go to a cafe near the school that just opened lately. The four of you are making great conversation with each other. Well, more like you with Sting, and Lucy with Natsu. When you're talking, suddenly your phone ring that indicates a message.

'(Y/N)-chan. Can you come to the library now? I need to talk to you.' Erza message you and you quickly reply with a yes. You then go back to school. Sting is about to accompany you but you refuse, saying that this might be a personal problem considering Lucy wasn't invited. When you arrive at the library, you spot Erza and Jellal there.

What the... did she ask me to come here for some romance advice?

"Yo.." you say to the two school's best students.

"Ah, you're finally here." Erza says.

"Yup. So, what do you want to talk about?" You ask the red head.

"We might know who sabotage the wooden chair that you were using last week." Jellal answer you. This makes a bad memories flood back to you. It hurts to remmeber how hard your head get hit by the books that you unconsciously touch it.

It's surprising that they can find the reason of the incident. But it's even more surprising that it happened because of someone. Everyone would think that was a pure accident.

"So you're saying that someone set this whole thing?"

"I'm afraid so. Right Ms. Librarian?" Erza says with anger evident in her voice. The certain person shiver because of the scary aura Erza giving.

"Wait. I don't mean to doubt you but how can you conclude that someone might set this whole things up?" You ask to make sure that you wont accuse the wrong person or even accuse someone when this is a pure accident.

"First thing first, the ladder had been cut. This broken part seems too clean don't you think?" Jellal ask giving you a certain photo. You nod at him.

"The next one, there are actually books that doesn't belong to the isle. You may not notice it because you were be looking for a certain book, but there are actually non encyclopedia books there." Erza say.

"And what evidence we got from that?"

"The room created by it." Erza answer you while you move your head to the side.

"The fact that some books are not belong in their places are a bit strange. But the thing is, they have one thing in common. They are thick books. They were put together so it will create less room so when someone pulled it with force, all of the books will fall." This clicks in your mind.

"Well that... makes a lot of sense that someone might set me up. But what did the librarian had to do with this?" The librarian hang her head low. She looks ashamed and... sad?

"There are two things that prove her guilt. First one, when we were investigating the scene, you're so eager to make the students leave right? This might be because you don't want anyone to find any evidence." The librarian stays silent. She doesn't seem to have any intention to retort the student council president.

"But that doesn't prove anything." You say.

"Well, the key is on what she said next. She said that you were falling because of a broken ladder. But the thing is, no one knows that it's broken except the one who get near you while the librarian is so far from us. Why is that? It's because the ladder had fallen and covered by the books. And from her point of view, she won't be able to see the ladder." Erza says.

"The next one is when you said that it has been broken for 2 days from your incident. You know what? She just said it randomly because she thought that we rarely come to the library so we wouldn't know. But, we have levy as our key person. Levy oftenly come to the library, and the fact that she's short made her almost always need to use the ladder. But she said that until the day before, the ladder is still alright. And the strangest part is that no one can use the ladder when your incident day except you. You can conclude it by yourself can't you (Y/N)-san?" Jellal ends the explanation.

"Wh-Why did you do that? Have i done something wrong?" Your sad face makes the librarian feel even more guilt.

"I-I'm sorry. Someone told me to and threat me. I never knew that it would turn out like this. Please. You should believe me." She said with tears fall freely on her face. You can see that Erza is holding the urge to punch her right on her face. But then, you get closer to the librarian with your bangs covering your face. Your hand is up in the air. The librarian ready for the impact but it never come. Instead, she felt hands on her shoulder caressing it.

"I'll forget this for good. But please, never do this again to anyone else." You say.

"Huh?!" Erza and Jellal say together surprised at your statement.

"Huh?" The librarian say blinking a few times. She's as confused as the other two.

"But, (Y/N)-chan--"

"It's okay. I've been through things like this a lot. It wont stop even if i continue to investigate it. So please. Just let me enjoy my life without thinking about the bully." You smile at them but it seems so sad to Erza and Jellal. You then tell the librarian a little of lecture and thanks to the "detective couple". You're laughing while teasing them, make their face very red.

But you don't know that a blonde boy has been eavesdropping your conversations all this time.

Dammit (Y/N)-chan. Stop acting strong when you're not.
