Caught up...

"Can someone please tell me WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!!" I was still imprisoned by Luke and Nick's grip on my hands. It felt like chains, the kind that NEVER come off. After what seemed like forever we turned a final corner which lead us outside... Right to the... Oh of course... I should've known...

"We'll be safe," Luke puffed leaning his elbow on the wooden frame.

"Yeah, yeah. Man I really need a..."

"Don't you fucking dare, Nick. Look we gotta be careful. I mean really careful. If he finds out we're here - "

"He'll do what?" I hear myself ask. Carver was intimidating, but he didn't seem to be the kind of person who went around beating people up. Not if they didn't deserve it anyway.

"It's complicated." Nick replied.

"Well, maybe this gang is too complicated for me." I spat at them. "Forget this, I'm out."

" Ashley come back!" I heard Luke call out. But what was the point? They were barely being honest with me. What kind of gang hides secrets from each other? A gang full of trouble, that's what.

I actually felt pretty proud of myself for standing up to them. I small lump of pride developed in my heart, until I realised I just ditched the only 'friends' I had. It was break time and I found myself awfully lonely just sitting around, not knowing what to do. I'll find a new gang and some friends, I know I will. I just gotta...

"You okay?"

I look up to see a red-head girl smiling at me. It's Bonnie.

"Yeah, yeah."

Bonnie raised an eyebrow before saying, "We both know that ain't true. You look like your gonna cry an ocean at this rate. Cmon tell me, maybe I can help."

"Do you know Carver?"

Bonnie's expression turned from concerned to suspicious. It was hard to read her mind.

Bonnie buried her head between her hand. "Oh, God what did Luke say to you?" She said between muffles.

"Not much, I swear Bonnie they're hiding something from me!" I had no idea why I was telling Bonnie all this, but something about her made me trust her. She didn't seem like the kind of person to lie, unless she really, really had to.

"Look Ash, Carver wasn't always like that. He's just been stressed lately."

"So that's an excuse to come up to little girls and harass them?"

Bonnie just shook her head. "I've told you way too much anyways. You'll find out soon enough."

"Why can't you just tell me?"

"Is that the bell? Oh shit, sorry, Ashley, gotta go..."

Worst. Cop out. Ever

Lunchtime

I grabbed some pizza and a handful of biscuits. I got the feeling that I would feel lonely and depressed so I decided to eat it out. What harm could it do?

I turned round scanning the lunchroom, trying to find any empty tables or seats. My was eyes were fixed on a guy with brown hair along with his friend with black hair. They must've seen me staring, as they held up their hands in a way to say, 'we're here.'

I wasn't playing like this. I just marched straight past Luke and Nick. Just seconds ago, their faces were lit up like lamps. Now, all that glow had escaped from their face. Good. I like it that way...
