Hey guys thanks for the reads and votes, I really appreciate it. Check out my YouTube channel; I do a lot of twdg and twau tributes (the link is in my bio) I'm also going to do a trailer for this story, but I'll inform you when I've done it aha
PEACE OUT ✌️😏
It was the evening. The sky was a light shade of yellowish pink, the wind blowing just enough to keep me cool, but not so much that I needed a scarf. It was nice. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy this summer luxury. My mind was too busy wondering off...
I should've refused Bonnie's plea. She was up to something, clear and straight and I was determined to find out what. She was trying to keep me from finding out something, and I couldn't determine if it was for my benefit, or hers. It wasn't just that though. Where was Luke? And Nick? Come to think of it, they'd all been a little distant with me lately. It made me wonder if they were getting bored of me, or planning something without me knowing because they didn't trust me. Remember what Carver said....
After what seemed like forever I finally reached my home. I couldn't reach the doorbell, nor could I be bothered to get the keys out of my bag, so I decided to call Dad instead. He arrived a moment later, eyebrows raised.
"Ashley? Really?" He asked, but he was laughing.
"Yeah, sorry about that. Couldn't reach the door, my arm... Y'know."
"No, it's alright." Dad replied. His phone went off and he instantly smiled.
"Who's that?" I asked jokingly.
"Oh, it's just a coworker." He smiled. His phone beeped again and the room instantly filled with laughter. I had to smile. It was rare to see Dad laugh (well, unless he was laughing about me anyway).
"Just a coworker?" I asked, though the meaning behind it was more than a meaningless joke.
"Ok, maybe not just a coworker..."
"Wow, Dad I'm really happy you moved on, I never thought you would, not after..."
The glow in Dad's face suddenly drained and I instantly felt guilty about reminding him of the past, something we both promised each other that we would never do.
"I'm sorry, Dad. It's just - "
"No, no it's alright Hun." Dad reassured me, smiling. He would've fooled me, if it wasn't for the sadness portraying in his eyes.
I smiled back sadly in return, before making a beeline to my room, partly because I was tired, but mainly because I had created awkward unnecessary tension. Like always. But my guilt was short lived.
I found myself snuggled up in bed, slowly zoning out from the real world and into my own bliss, where everything went the right way. I could hear faint laughter from downstairs, which only pushed my further outwards of the world. I felt myself smile, before falling into darkness
***
By the time I had reached Bonnie's house, she had already gone so I was forced to walk on my own. Past the bush. Carver's bush. Luckily I passed it unharmed, so I can put that as a good in my book. When I finally reached the gate I saw Bonnie with Sarah. As I approached them, I could've sworn I saw Bonnie whisper something in Sarah's ear.
"Hey!" Bonnie exclaimed, hugging me so tightly I could barely breathe.
"Nice - to - see... You too." It was barely a whisper.
"Oh, yeah sorry about that." Bonnie replied and let go of me, almost as quickly. She then turned to Sarah before saying, "Sarah, why don't you go play with some of your friends?"
