"I can't believe I did that. Robbing some stupid kid... Like a bandit."
"I thought you were gonna kill him!"
"Why? Did you want me to?" She snapped back, turning away from me, causing me to hang my head down in guilt. I know Jane (probably) wouldn't resort to that, but still, she seemed pretty out of it.
Jane turned around again, only to reveal a face stained with tears. She gave me a quick look, before trying to hide the evidence with her sleeve, glaring at me while doing so."Look, I'll - I'll see you tomorrow." And with that she slowly trailed off, hands on eyes into the darkness. I would've usually ran after her, since it was one of those rare cases where she didn't just 'mysteriously' disappear, but by the look on her face, it seemed as if it would do more harm than good, so I thought against it.
Glancing up at the semi-dark sky, I relialised that it was my turn to start to trail off. I fumbled for my phone in my bag, only to find out that the battery was dead (great). I ended up looking around me, and judging by how quiet that park seemed, it must've gone seven. My senses seemed to have gotten their 'senses' back and soon I could feel the numbness like before, only this time it was affecting every part of my body, espcially my head. I buried my head in my hands, slowly walking. This wasn't such a good idea, however. Having my head in my hands isn't exacly good for you're sight and I guess I would find out the hard way.
"Hey, are you alright?" A voice asked. One that I didn't seem to recognize.I removed my hands from my face, to glance upon a boy with shiny black hair, and a warming smile.
"Yeah, I'm kinda chilly though," I replied and he suddenly looked concerned."Hmm, figured you were. You looked a bit lost, so I thought I'd meet you halfway." He paused a bit, looking at me still concerned.
"Listen, you look like shit. I know a guy who works in a corner shop. I could get you some free food if you want." He contiuned, snaking an arm round my shoulder.
"Why do you care?" I interogated. It wasn't everyday someone just randomly offered to help you, and even when they did, it wasn't all good.
"Because you're in my backyard. That and you're far to sweet and pretty to look so sad." I didn't know what to say to that.
I just smiled, until my consience kicked in. "Wait... What's the catch?"
He shrugged a bit before saying, "No catch. I've got plenty. And if you want... AHHHH! WHAT THE FUCK MAN!"
In just the blink of the eye, he somehow ended up one the floor, a bright red mark on his cheek. Even after just what happened, he seemed relatively calm.
I turned round to see... Nick? Oh no....
I had twist his arm hard to restrain him from the giving the guy another blow. Nick took one glimpse at me, and instantly relaxed his muscles, his breathing a little faster than before."Nick I - " I didn't have time to finish my sentence. Somehow the tables turned, and Nick was on the floor. the guy raised his arm, ready to give a full-on blow, but Nick blocked him, using his other fist to plant a pretty good dent in the guy's eye. It was turning blacker by the minute. He came to his senses, pushing Nick on the floor, pinning him down, the pair blindly punching each other.
"STOP!" I screamed, because someone would have to have to stop this fight. I just hadn't anticipated the fact that that person may be me.
Nick raised his arm, but stopped it in mid air. He turned to me, that classic glow in his eyes, almost as if to say 'I'm sorry.'
The other guy scrambled up, taking this oppurtunity to frantically run off, clutching his eye."Why did you attack him!?" I screamed. I don't think I can even look at him right now.
Nick looked at me as if I was stupid. Maybe I was.
