Habang abala sa pagpasok ang mga tao ay abala naman si Nicholas sa pandidilat kay Jarred.
"Jarred, stop that," mahinang saway ng senador sa pinsan nito.
Nagkibit-balikat lang ito saka patay-malisyang umayos mula sa pagkakaupo.
Jarred was his cousin in his mother's side. Mas bata ito ng apat na taon sa kaniya, at pangalawa sa pinakamatanda sa kanilang magpipinsan ngunit minsan ay kung umaasta ito ay parang kaedad ng mga nakababata pa nilang mga pinsan.
Totoo naman ang sinabi ni Jarred. Nicholas was excited to see Yana, but it was his secret. Hindi niyon kailangan pang makarating sa dalaga.
Ever since he had a good conversation with Yana last Friday night, the woman could not get off his mind. Oo nga at matagal na siyang may gusto sa dalaga—pitong taon na, ngunit noong gabi ng anniversary ball lang sila nakapag-usap nang maayos sa tagal na nilang magkakilala.
It was a blessing in disguise for Nicholas. Matagal na niya kasing pinag-iisipan kung dapat niya bang i-approach si Yana dahil noon pa man ay mailap na ito sa kaniya sa hindi niya malamang dahilan, ngunit pagkakataon na ang gumawa ng paraan para makapag-usap sila ng dalaga.
And Kilian's special request unexpectedly paved a way for Nicholas to see Yana during weekdays.
"Good afternoon, senator, Mr. Del Valle, and Miss Cervantes," kaniya-kaniyang pagbati sa kanila ng mga taong kadarating lang.
Nicholas politely greeted everyone. Hindi nagtagal ay nag-simula na rin ang meeting.
Masusing inilatag sa harapan nila ang mga plano para sa coffee ad na ilalabas sa September. Isang representative mula sa marketing department ng Bacchus & Java Corp. ang nag-present sa harap.
Sa buong duration ng presentation ay panay ang patagong pagsulyap niya kay Yana. He witnessed how Yana's vibe changed. She was now exuding an intimidating aura.
"Since I'll be supervising this project, there will be changes from the color palette and styles of the wardrobes and studio setups, down to the cameras that we'll be using," seryosong anito saka tumingin sa kaniya. "I'll be asking Dynasty for a specific camera brand and specs to use for this project. Is that fine with you?"
Tumango siya.
"Everything is fine with me, Miss Cervantes. I'll have my secretary send you the list of cameras we have and if the specs and brand that you're looking for is not on the list then we'll get a new one."
Pasimple niyang sinenyasan ang sekretaryang si Brix na kasama rin nila sa meeting. Tumango naman ito at agad na nag-type sa laptop na nasa harapan.
"Or you can visit Dynasty to check the qualities of the cameras we have in our studios," suhestiyon niya pa.
"Let's schedule it tomorrow morning, then," Yana said firmly.
Bukas agad? This woman is really something . . .
Nagulat si Nicholas sa agarang pagpayag ni Yana sa suhestiyon niya. Lihim siyang napailing. It looked like Yana did not want to waste time.
Saglit siyang napatingin sa schedule niya para bukas. Unfortunately, may senate meeting sila bukas ng umaga. Hindi niya masasamahan ang dalaga sa Dynasty.
"Great. You can have a tour tomorrow in our studios and inspect the cameras and other equipment. Jarred will accompany you since I'll be in the senate. I'll arrange you a private flight to Manila at seven in the morning."
"You mean we'll be using your chopper?"
He nodded. "Yes."
"Thanks for the generous offer. Tomorrow, seven in the morning, then," Yana agreed.
