Breaking the Barrier

Chapter Four

Jayden

I hear the sound of water from behind the door. Damn this girl is stubborn. I kicked off my shoes and laid across the couch with one leg propped up. I can't wait to get rid of her I just need this deal to go through and they can have her.

I feel my eyes getting heavy and I start to doze off. A few minutes louder I hear a loud thud that wakes me out of my sleep followed by a loud "Fuck!" I get up and start walking towards the bathroom.

"Shit shit shit shit shit!"

I knock on the door. "Aye, you good?" I wait a few seconds but she doesn't respond. I knock again. "Yo you straight?"

"I-I fell." I bite my lip to keep from laughing.

"I'm coming in." I go to turn the knob when she yells.

"No!"

"What?"

"You can't come in."

"Why not?"

"B-because I'm well, you know. Naked. And it's hard to try and wrap this towel around myself."

"Hold on I'll be right back." I walk out the room and head down the hall to my master bedroom. I rummage through my closet and dig out an old black robe. I quickly grabbed it and headed back to the bathroom. I knock on the door again. "Here I got a robe this should be easier."I open the door slightly just enough to toss the robe inside.

"Thanks." I shut the door and lean against the wall next to it. A few seconds later she says. "Okay you can come in." I open the door and see her on the floor. I started laughing, I was trynna hold it in but I couldn't help it. "It's not funny!" 

"I'm sorry it's just a little funny."

"Just shut up and help me."

"Oh now you want me help? What happened to "I don't need your help" didn't you just tell me you got it? Find your own way up."

"Are you fuckin serious right now?"
Without answering I turn around and close the door behind me. I was gonna help her up but playing with her right now seemed more fun. When the door shut I stood against the wall listening to her talk to herself.

"Fuck him, I don't need his help. Come on Amerie just get up that's all you gotta do." I can hear her grunting as she tried to get up but failed. "Jay! Come help me!"  I ignore her and still stand against the wall.

"Jay! Please! I need your help."  Her words came out as a whine.  Damn it.
I opened the door and walked into the bathroom.

"Come on." I bend down and she lifts her arms up and I wrap mine under hers. "Ready?" She nods. "Alright 1...2...3..." I lift her up and the grip she has around my neck tightens.

"Ow!" She whines. I lightly pick her up and walk her out of the bathroom sitting her down on the bed. I let go of my hold around her but to my surprise her arms were still wrapped around me and her forehead was placed on my chest. "It hurts so bad" She whispered  and guilt spread through my body. 

"Lemme grab your medicine." She moves her arms from around me and I walk over to the coffee table where her medicine and a bottle of water sat.  I walk back and hand her the pill and twist open her bottle of water. She takes the pill and swallows it down with water. She hands me the bottle back and I put the cap on and sit it on the nightstand.

"I should probably get dressed.  Do you mind grabbing the clothes out the bathroom for me?" I walk back to the bathroom and pick up the clothes that she had folded neatly on the counter. I go back to bed and place the clothes next to her.
