Getting inside the car I pull my hood over my head and pull the drawstrings tightly. My face was still messed up and I didn't want anybody to ask questions. It was still dark outside and I glance at the time.

It was 3:45 in the morning.

Jay had decided to take his all black Range Rover and it felt weird being so high up.

It was my first time leaving the house since all this happened and I can't lie I was nervous. As Jay drove I found myself looking around a lot. It was quiet between the two of us. We hadn't said a word to one another since he told me he was gonna handle it after the text messages.

I tired to focus on the floor or even the dashboard but I found myself constantly looking out each of the windows. I hated how paranoid I was, this wasn't like me at all. I was trynna act normal but I knew I failed when I felt Jay's hand on my thigh.

He slightly squeezed it sending a wave of peace through my body. I close my eyes and take a deep breath then exhale. When I open my eyes I look down at his hand that lays gently on me.

My eyes follow up the length of his arm tracing every visible vein. For a while I just admire him. Through all of this he has been by my side. Even though I'm only in all of this mess because of him, he's held me down not because he has too but because he wants too.

My eyes dip down to his lap.  He always kept a gun in his lap when he drove and it honestly was the sexiest shit ever, I can't believe I hated it before.

My eyes make their way back up him and he looks over at me and flashes me a smile then licks his lips.

Bitch, waterfalls.

I quickly look away and can hear him laugh to himself.  This man was the devil.

I look out the window thinking to myself I had so many questions but I never knew how to really ask them.

"So what does that mean?" I ask. I can't lie I had a habit of asking questions with no context around it.

"Whatchu talkin about?"

"I killed Darren.. so what does that mean?" Jay doesn't respond instead he just continues looking straight paying attention to the empty road ahead. "Jayden." I say looking at him.

He looks at me then looks back ahead before sighing.

"It just means you're one of us."

"One of who?"  I just know he wasn't saying what I thought he was saying.

"You're YNH now."

"No I'm not." I shift in my seat and shake my head. "This ain't a life I wanna be in."

"You think ion know this? I ain't want you in this shit either but the game is the game."

"Fuck the game!" I was getting irritated. I really didn't want any part in this lifestyle. Tbis wasn't for me.

"Aye, watch who talkin to before I reach over there and—" he looks at me and his expression softens.  He shakes his head and then continues. "Look, I ain't want you in this shit. But I need you to ride this out until I can get you out of it safely."
