Coming back to the penthouse noticing the front room was empty and so was the kitchen I walk straight to Jay's room. He must've just gotten on the shower because he was standing in front of the dresser shirtless putting deodorant on. He had on a pair of grey sweatpants that were low enough for you to see the top of his boxers.

With his back still to me, I stand behind him and wrap my arm around him.

"Hi."I say laying my head on his back.

"You straight?" he ask and I could feel the vibration from his voice.

I shrug my shoulders and sigh. "I don't know." I answer.

"Hmm." He says and I look up seeing his neck turned and his lips poked out. With my arms still securely wrapped around him I stand on my tip-toes and give him a quick kiss. "What happened with your brother. He got any more information?"

I sigh and unwrap my arms from around and walk over to couch and lay down.

"No.But we're going to Detroit."

"Who?"

"Us."

"Who is us?"

"Me, King-"

"Yeah you got me fucked up." He interrupts and turns around to face me.

"Babe, at least let me finish." I sit up and pat the seat next to me. Stuffing a hand in his pocket I take a second to admire the pr-...

Pair of grey sweatpants.

He sits down giving me his undivided attention.

"King is just as clueless about what exactly the deal is so we figure if we can't find the answers here then maybe we can find them back home in Detroit."

"Ion trust that shit, it could be a set up for some shit to happen. You not going."

"Jay-"

"Amerie I'm not about to argue witchu."

"Then don't. You said you trust me and I already told everyone to stop babying me, that went for you too. If we want all this to end, the only way to find out what went wrong, is going to Detroit. So whether or not you want me to go, I'm going, so either suck it up and tag along or stay here and let me figure it out on my own."

Now I understand just how Kairi felt, like damn, I'm not a baby I don't need anyone to hold my hand.

I look at him and he just stares at me as if he was trying to read me, but doesn't say anything.

"Look,  I understand the risk, I know not to trust anybody, and there's still a possibility that I may not be able to trust what King says and this very well could be a set up, but that's why we're all going, we stay ready so we don't have to get ready. That's why I told him to bring his girlfriend or fiancee or whatever she is to him, and their child. The same way he knew I would bring Mercedes with me is the same way he knew I would ask him to bring his lil family. He's smart, but as of right now I honestly can say I sorta trust him, but this trip defines everything."

Jay looks at me for a second and nods.

"Aight, Ima let you do what you gotta do, anything goes wrong and that shit is on you."
