Amerie

Sitting in the Sprinter I look out the window waiting for everybody to get in. Mercedes was behind everybody and I watch as the same guy from earlier was holding her by her arm. They seemed to having a conversation and every time Mercedes tried to pull away her grabbed her again.

I get out my seat and head to the front and get out the vehicle.

"Mercedes come on." I say and the boy stops mid sentence and looks at me.

"How many times you gon interrupt me?"

"How ever many times I want to. That's my sister and she obviously doesn't wanna have a conversation with you, so back the fuck up."

He laughs and shakes his head.

"You got a lot of base in your voice baby girl, say check this out, If I don't leave her alone what exactly are you gonna do about it?"

First of all ew! No nigga ever calls me baby girl besides Jay. Who the fuck does this clown think he is?

I reach behind my back and pull out my gun aiming it at him.

"You trynna find out?" Mercedes eyes widen and the a man looks at me and smirks before letting Mercedes go and pushing her forward.

"I'a catch you later Mercedes." He says looking directly at me before walking off.

I watch him as he walks away and then hop back into the vehicle. I sit in the back and just look straight ahead. Mercedes didn't say anything the whole ride and neither did I.

We make it back to Mercedes apartment and Ace follows us into the building and walks with us up the two small flights of stairs. He follows us inside scoping around the apartment before leaving.

Me and Mercedes hadn't said a word to each other and I wanted to ask her so bad who that was back at the club but I decided to let it go for now and ask her in the morning or wait for her to tell me herself.

All I can say was, it didn't sit with me well.

The next morning Mercedes wakes up and heads out into the kitchen. Usually, Amerie was up before her but this time she wasn't.

She walks to Amerie's door and knocks on it, but Amerie doesn't answer. She knocks again and still nothing.

She turns the nob and opens the door to see Amerie stretch out on the bed doing something she never does, snoring. For as long as Mercedes has been around Amerie she was never known to snore, at all.

She stares at her sister for a while she slept, thinking about all the times when they were younger that Amerie would jump on her bed telling her it was time to get up. She'd run full speed and hop on Mercedes beds jumping and flopping down until Mercedes couldn't take it anymore and would finally get out of bed.

She smiles to herself thinking about how they'd get into an argument every time afterwards and how their mom would threaten to beat their asses if they didn't knock it off, so they'd silently argue by making faces at each other and rolling their eyes.

There's a knock on the door and Mercedes quietly closes Amerie's door back.

She had a question she really wanted to ask Amerie, but she'd wait til later to do so.
