I wake up blinking against the light of the sun. I look around trying to figure out where the hell we were.

"You're finally up." Jay says.

"Where are we?" I ask him rubbing my eyes.

"Look." He says point at a sign and I read it out loud.

"Tybee Island." I look over at him. "You're taking me to the beach?"

"I thought it would be a good spot to just relax." I remained quiet in my seat. "Do you not like the beach? We could always go somewhere else." He said quickly.

"N-no it's perfect, lets go to the beach." I was actually excited. I haven't been to the beach in years. The last time I went to the beach was when I was fourteen years old and my momma had took my sister and I for summer break. She worked extra shifts that year to afford for all of us to go for three days and it turned out to be the best three days of my teenage life.

Jay continues to drive. Through the spaces between the buildings it I could see the beach and I try to hide the smile I had on my face. I felt like a little kid. I was so eager to get out this car and run through the sand then I remembered.

Bitch you have one good leg. My smile disappeared and all I wanted to do now was go home. I was pissed. I reached over and punched Jay in his chest causing him to look at me.

"The fuck did I do?" he asked with a confused looked on his face.

"Why would you bring me to beach knowing I can't do shit. I cant even walk on own and there is no way in hell crutches are making through the sand."

"Just trust me. Damn." He said focusing back on the road. I sit in my seat with my arms folded across my chest looking out the window. After a few minutes Jay whips into a parking space and from my window I could see the water. I unbuckled my seat belt and sat there as Jay got out and grabbed stuff from the back before walking over to my door.

"Come on." He says  lifting me from the car. I lean against the car door as he puts a book bag on my back. He grabs another bag and put it on his back before lifting me off my feet.

It still surprised me how strong he was because he didn't look it at all.

"Overly strong ass. Hulk ass nigga." I mumble.

"I'll drop you right here and you can find your own way, keep talkin."

After what felt like eternity he finally put me down in the warm sand. I looked around and noticed there was nobody around us.

"So there's nobody else here?" I asked. Jay looked around before answering.

"I guess not."

"Is this your plan to kill me then dispose of me in the ocean cause..."

He laughs sitting down next to me.

"Maybe. Or maybe I brought you all the way out here to give you some fresh air away from being a target."

I was quiet for a second unsure what to say. I looked out into the water watching the waves before I spoke.

"You know, I haven't been to the beach in years.'

"Why is that?"

"I never really had the time. The last time I went to the beach was with my mom and sister. It was the one and only time I ever went to the beach and I loved it. But It was expensive for us to get there and then mom started getting sick. But that beach weekend was the peak of my life."
