Amerie

It was Saturday morning and I force myself out of bed. Today was the day I was being forced to hang out with that bitch Ayana.

Amerie why you gotta be like that? We don't even know the girl, why she gotta be a bitch?

Okay, you're right.  She just caught me off guard the other night that's all. She could be cool lemme give her a chance.

I get out of bed and take a shower, brush my teeth, and get ready. I slip on a pair of jeans and black strapless shirt.  I quickly
put my feet into my black slides and head to the bathroom.

I pull my hair into a high pony tail and throw on some earrings. My outfit was simple, cute, and comfortable. I walk out of my room and of course at the kitchen island sits Ayana, Jay and to my surprise Ace.

I purposely walk past Ayana and Jay over to the couch and sit down. After a few seconds Ace joins me.

"I never wanted to shoot someone so fucking bad."  He says. I look at him fighting back my urge to laugh.

"Hmm?"

"That bitch Ayana gets on my nerves. I ain't like her back then and I damn sure don't now."

"Why?"

"She's fuckin annoying. She always been so damn prissy especially around that nigga."

"Maybe you haven't took the time to know  her."

Ace sucks his teeth and looks at me.

"Amerie why you defending that girl, you don't even like that girl."

"I-"

"I saw your face as soon as you laid your eyes on her leaving your room." He shakes his head. "Do a better job hiding your facial expressions." He laughs. "Why you don't like her?"

"She's a bit... u-um-"

"Overbearing, annoyin, clingy?"

"Well since your words are nicer let's go with those." Ace shakes his head and laughs.

"You are something else."

Me and Ace spend a few minutes talking and laughing. I look up as Jay and Ayana walk towards up.  Jay looks at me his expression blank but his eyes cold.

I look beside me and notice I was sitting close to Ace on the couch. I look back at Jay, the look in his eye was gone.

"Y'all ready?" He ask.

"Been ready." Ace says getting up from the couch. Jay's eyes are back on mine and for a split second I'm stuck.

"Me too." I say breaking my eye contact with Jay and following beyond Ace.

Once we reached the car Ayana stopped me.

"Hey do you mind sitting in the back? I left my purse and stuff in the front seat."

I force a smile on my face to hide the fact that I desperately wanted to smack her.

"That's no problem." I say through my teeth.

"You're the best Amari."

"It's Amerie."

"That's what I said wasn't it?" She smiles and gets in the car.

I breathe and count to ten before opening the back door getting inside. I force a smile as I look straight ahead.

"Ace..." I say.
