After our evening at Andretti's Ace and I headed back to his house. It was one in the morning and I was tired but I wasn't ready to go to bed which is why we were up laying in his bed just talking while the tv played in the background.

"Kai thinks I should reach out to my sister." Ace says which catches me off guard.

"Well... what do you think? Is that something you're ready to do?" I never knew the full story as to what happened, I know he killed his sister's father, and I know his mom and sister haven't spoken to him in years because of it. I met his sister a few times and for the time I was around, they seemed very close.

"Ion know forreal. I definitely was thinking about it, but real shit, Ion think they'd ever fuck wimme again."

"It's not about whether they gon fuck with you again, it's about making peace with the situation."

"I've already did that."

"No you didn't, cause if you did, you wouldn't be thinking so hard about it now. Make peace with the situation, you can't force them back in your life but at least you know you extended the branch to them. If they choose to be in your life again that's fine, but if they don't you have to be at peace with it to understand that's fine too."

I was the last person to talk about being at peace with a situation. But I can give advice but I just can't take it.

"The wild shit about it is, I don't regret shit that I did, I just regret what it cost me. But even then I rather lose them on my own terms not because someone was gonna force me to be without them."

Should I ask?

Would he get mad if I asked him what happened?

"Why did you kill him?" I was curious. It had to be a reason why he did it, he wouldn't risk losing his mom and sister like that for no reason.

"I ain't never told nobody this shit but it was because-" I hear a noise outside his room and I guess he heard it too because we both stopped and looked at the door than at each other.

"Keep talking" I mouth to him as I grab my gun from under my pillow and he grabbed his from the night stand. Carefully, I roll off the bed onto the floor and crouch down while Ace is standing with his back against the closet door.

"Man shit was just crazy, I ain't really know what else to do besides-"  he couldn't finish the sentence because the door swung open and shots fired in the room. Two people with mask came running in and as I was about to shoot a bullet comes flying through the window.

Bitch what the fuck?

I wasn't in any position to get whoever was shooting through the window. Ace had shot both people that came running in.

"These niggas got blood all over my goddamn carpet man, fuck!" He yelled.

Niggas trynna kill us and he worried about his carpet.
