Levi woke up in the middle of the night, this was normal routine for him. The only difference now was that Lyanna was sleeping next to him. Her small body was up against his own and he smiled. Gently he rose up from his position and moved a piece of her hair that had fallen in her face. He smiled down at her and walked out into his office, he really needed to catch up on those files. He set to work on them and had gotten into the rhythm of doing his work when a knock sounded at his door. He looked up and groaned. "State your name and business." His tired voice answered. "It's Hanji Levi." Levi narrowed his eyes and tsked. "Why should I let you in, you've caused a lot of trouble these past few days." Levi said and Hanji sighed. "It's important Levi, I know Lyanna is asleep. I'd rather not discuss this in front of her." Levi raised an eyebrow. It must have been really serious for Hanji to be this calm about it.

"Come in." Levi hadn't bothered to lock his office door since Lord Wallbourne decided to leave. Hanji slowly entered his office and walked to his desk. "It's about Wallbourne." Hanji stated and Levi chuckled. "He Just left how much trouble can he start." But still Levi's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "Tons apparently. My sources tell me he's going to go to the court and try to annul your marriage." Hanji leaned back in her chair. "I'll annul him before I allow him to lay one finger on my wife." Levi stated, his voice dripped with venom. Hanji chuckled and Levi glanced up at her. "What is it Shitty Glasses?" "It's nothing, you just referred to her as your wife is all. You've only known her for a total of two days. You're totally smitten." Hanji smiled softly. "Actually we've known each other longer than that. She was Petra's best friends when she went through initial training. Petra actual introduced the two of us together." Levi's expression fell a little. "Aw so it was love at first sight!" Hanji clasped her hands together and smiled brightly. "Hardly, we couldn't stand each other. She was loud and sloppy with her beer. I couldn't stand her. But when I saw her again on an expedition...something about her had changed. She was more quiet and reserved. She lead her squad well and she was just...different." Levi reminisced those days before the colossal titan showed up, when things were simple.

"Then my squad perished. Lyanna was there for me, she saw the pain I was feeling that I hid so well from everyone else. She helped me so much." Hanji nodded. "I remember, you drank like a fish and even allowed some stubble to grow on that baby face of yours." "I didn't realize I might actually harbor feelings for her until just last night." Levi sat back in his chair. Hanji smiled and said, "How does she make you feel then?" "Like my soul is light and free from all of the wrong in the world. Like I'm unchained and free go to go anywhere in the world. She gives me the feeling you get when you see the first signs of spring after a long winter." He smiled and Hanji teared up. "You guys can thank me at your wedding then." Levi looked at Hanji and frowned. "But were married already. Unless... Hanji did you lie to Erwin!" Levi stood from his position and looked towards the room where Lyanna was sleeping. "I had no choice Levi! She was going to leave us for good! She doesn't deserve to be forced to marry that pompous lord! You have to understand why I did what I did. She'll be safe now!" Hanji did her best not to wake Lyanna up as she pleaded with Levi. "What if her parents find out Hanji? Then she'll really be in danger." Levi directed his gaze back over to Hanji.

"You'll just to marry her for real before that. Then you guys can give me little badass nieces and nephews!" Hanji said. "Hanji, you do realize that I need to tell Lya this right? She can't go into this blindly." "Don't tell her just yet, you guys aren't under the radar yet. At least this way she'll make it more believable when asked if she's married." Levi rolled his eyes and tsked. "Fine."

The morning came and went and Lyanna hadn't seen Levi anywhere. She'd ask around but no one knew where Levi was. For a split second she allowed herself to think that maybe he was avoiding her. But she quickly withdrew that thought, Levi didn't avoid people. People went out of their way to avoid him. There was only one other place he could be and that was Hanji's lab, why he would be there, escaped Lyanna's mind completely. Lyanna began to jog to Hanji's lab and smiled when she thought about the past nights events. Maybe this arrangement would work out really well in the end. For once she could see a bright future for herself, and that was all thanks to Levi. "Hanji! I'm coming in!" Lyanna announced her presence, but just as she was about to reach for the door knob it swung open. "Lyanna! What a pleasant surprise!" Hanji stepped out from her lab and smiled suspiciously towards Lyanna. "Have you seen Levi around by any chance?" Lyanna smiled.

"Me see Levi? No no, not today. Have you checked the stables?" Hanji stood between Lyanna and the door. "That was one of the first places I checked. I wanted to see if I could bring him lunch. He's gotten behind on his work because of me, so I wanted to make it up to him." Lyanna smiled and Hanji began to break out into a sweat. "Oh that's nice of you." Hanji gulped and Lyanna noticed. "Hanji...is Levi in there?" She rose her eyebrow up at the taller woman. "Whhhaaaat no." Hanji tried to laugh it off. "Hanji." Lyanna's voice was serous now, was Levi really avoiding her? "Hanji, let her in she's already figured it out." Levi opened the door and stared at Lyanna's hurt expression. "Were you... were you avoiding me just now?" Lyanna tried to mask the anger in her voice. Hanji looked between the two and began to back away. "Well I'm gonna go...conduct some experiments or something. Bye!" With that being said she left the two new lovers alone to brave the storm that was coming.
