Chapter 3- Meeting Adjourned

I'm awakened to the sound of beating on the bedroom door. This better be good I grumble to myself padding over to the door flinging it open.

"What!" I exclaim clearly not trying to hide my annoyance.

"Sorry master Ettore but the council will begin meeting in hour." Christa, one of the maids replies with her head bowed in respect.

"Very well, Christa. Thank you." I respond closing the door behind me only to have it opened again by Certus.

"What is it now Certus?" I ask still very much annoyed.

He has a slight smile on his face. "Well, I just wanted to inform you that you are now enrolled in Roanoke University and will be starting classes Monday night to work toward a degree in Psychology" He says handing me a class schedule.

"Damn Certus! Did you really have to enroll me in class that soon?"

He looks at me and shrugs. "What can I say? I'm an asshole!"

I look at him wanting to throw him across the room just for the hell of it but think better of it. I sigh pinching the bridge of my nose. "So what name am I going by this time?" 

"Scott Alesandro Ettore" He call over his shoulder as he walking out of the door, "And happy meeting!" He yells from down the hall.

Shit! It had completely slipped my mind already. Well at least this was the last night. Our council meetings always ran from Saturday to Saturday. After freshening up a bit I throw on some blue jeans, black cowboy boots and a black T-shirt before heading downstairs to the conference room. I enter bidding everyone but Callidora a good evening as she sits sulking at her usual place in the corner of the room.

All fourteen members were once again present and accounted for. There was Affinity elder queen of fae, Mathios elder werewolf, Callidora elder vampire, Hyfus elder king of elves, Abraxas elder king of dragons, Iconia elder she demon, Onyx elder king of griffins, Tarus elder minotaur, Velox elder king of centaurs, Temptress elder Siren, Asensus elder queen of the phoenix, Pavor elder witch, Callousus elder Troll, and Myself.

Normally, there are were never two of any species on the council but seeing as no one could locate an elder hobbit or any hobbit for that instance, the council had voted to place Callidora on the council in place of the hobbit Acilla. Why? I will never know. Callidora was ruthless and had many of the views of the Ultonis. I had strongly opposed her placement but I myself along with the remaining five original elders, Affinity, Abraxas, Asensus, Velox, Onyx,  were out voted by the remaining seven.

I take my seat at the table as I watch Iconia, Temptress and Callidora drink in my appearance, lust evident in the eyes of all three women.

Affinity rises bringing the meeting to order. "Good evening ladies and gentleman" She begins slowly looking around the table, "this will be our last council meeting until next decade, so if there are any matters of grave importance that have not been addressed please bring them to the table now."

Abraxos rises from his chair to speak. He is the only other person who could rival my power and I had a deep respect for him and his wisdom.

"It was brought to my attention by one of my family members back home that there is a radical group forming in South China. However, before many of you dismiss this as a minor annoyance, you should be aware that they are spreading a message that they are descendants of the Ultonis." There was collective gasp from everyone in the room including myself.

"Impossible! We wiped them out centuries ago!" Tarus snarls slamming his fist down on the table.

"Tarus we must remain open to the possibility" Abraxos begins but is cut short by Tarus.
