"yo! did you guys see the news?" brendon shouted at dallon and josh as he and ryan approached the two in the park.

the four had agreed they should all hang out together, as friends. which, josh could clearly see, was hard for ryan. the boy was quite, to put it nicely, needy. honestly josh was okay with some amount of kissing or whatever, but usually it was a tad bit too much.

"what news?" josh questioned as brendon reached him and dallon.

"some gay transgender guy got beat up just a few streets from our school. nearly died, he's hooked onto an iv and shit in the hospital, or something," brendon explained with a scared look on his face.

"s-seriously?" josh asked, is voice quiet and horrified. he was scared of a lot of things in general, and now someone had gotten beat up for the stupidest reason near school.

god, josh hated how intolerant people could be.

"how much you want to bet the attacker was that weird kid from school?" dallon said, giving brendon a knowing look. josh looked back and forth the two for a few seconds, shaking his head.

"who? the guy that always sits on the bench? josh's lover-boy?" ryan asked, receiving an angry glance from josh.

"yeah, he seems like the type," dallon shrugged. josh huffed slightly, annoyed at how dumb his friends were.

"you're being judgmental towards someone you've never even said hello to," josh sighed, looking down towards the ground.

"let's just think of something else, okay?" ryan asked, feeling bad for josh.

"i'd like that."
