ten minutes.
ten minutes, and tyler would be there to pick josh up.
if josh doesn't die in the next ten minutes, that is. he felt as though he might, he was so terribly nervous. he didn't really do the whole dating thing, he hadn't had a boyfriend like, ever. counting out his three-day-long, unspoken-of relationship with brendon around a year ago. needless to say, a lot of weird things happened during those 72 hours. things that, in hindsight, josh, as well as most likely brendon, too, wished hadn't happened at all.

back to the ongoing moment, josh was furiously battling with his hair, which was now more of a pastel lilac colour than purple. he absolutely hated the thing, it looked like an old, used mop had been glued onto his head, but he had to work with what he had. he just hoped tyler hadn't picked out anything too nice and formal for their date.
which he, quite honestly, doubted. tyler seemed like the guy to take you to buy a mcdonald's meal and then you'd go eat it at a park, at best. and josh didn't hate the idea, honestly. he hated the idea of stiff, overly planned dates, so he really hoped tyler had opted out of those.

josh had picked his most decent items of clothing; black jeans, a black shirt and a pair of dr martens. as he was pulling the shoes on, his doorbell rang, and he rushed to the front door. as he pulled the door open, he was met with a sleeker-than-usual looking tyler joseph, smiling at him.

"you ready yet?" tyler asked, picking at his cuticles. nervous habit, josh assumed.

"just give me a few seconds, okay?" josh replied, and after tyler gave him a nod, he rushed to get his phone and other necessary belongings from his room.

"now?" tyler asked again as josh made his way back to the foyer, pushing his keys into his pocket.

josh nodded, feeling his stomach twist at the thought of actually going. tyler grinned at josh and waited for him to get outside and close the door. the two started walking down josh's driveway in an awkward silence, neither of them knowing what was appropriate to say. finally, at the end of the driveway, tyler broke the silence.

"is this date gonna end with what we did a couple days back?" the boy asked, smirking as he watched josh blush and give a shy smile.

"i-i-i guess so-o," josh stuttered, too flustered to form words any better. "but i-is the same t-t-teasing going to h-happen, t-too?"

"i guess you'll just have to wait and see, won't you, baby?"

"i g-guess," josh chuckled, feeling lightheaded already. tyler tended to have that effect on him. "i'm s-so nervous, i-i c-can barely br-breathe."

"are you alright?" tyler asked, stopping dead in his tracks and looking josh up and down.

"y-yeah, it's o-o-okay. it'll g-go over."

"sure?"

"yes, s-sure."

"okay," tyler smiled, grabbing josh's slightly sweaty hand and lacing their fingers together. "your hand fits quite nicely into mine."

"y-you're sounding l-less of a fuckboy," josh pointed out, looking at tyler who giggled and shook his head. "y-you are!"

"when have i ever sounded or seemed like a fuckboy, joshua?" tyler asked, clearly amused.

"l-like, all of t-the time?"

"you're no fair," tyler complained, playfully bumping into josh's side "no fair, baby boy."

"yes, i am," josh said, still looking at tyler. "fairer than a-anyone."

"how come?"

"i'm letting you t-take me on a d-date," josh explained, the butterflies swirling in his stomach as he said the word date. "even though you're a fuckboy."

"am not!"

"are too!"

"fine," tyler said, and leaned to josh's ear. "but only if it's about fucking you."

josh grew bright red and shook his head, a happy grin evident on his face. as he looked around, tyler declared the two had made it to their date place. josh was slightly confused. they were nowhere.

"you're not looking far enough," tyler explained, pointing towards a well-lit building with his unoccupied hand.

"oh my god," josh said, not knowing how to react.

"good or bad?"

"dude."

"what?"

"it's.."

"hm?"

"it's taco bell."

"do you not like taco bell?" tyler asked, visibly disappointed.

"i fucking adore taco bell, tyler," josh sighed. "this must be the most sick date ever."

"sick."

"i'm suddenly ten times hungrier than i was before," josh said, starting to drag tyler towards the building.

"heyyy, stop dragging me!" tyler called, and josh looked at him.

"what if i don't?"

"hm, wouldn't you look at the time, i have to get going," tyler said, looking at an imaginary clock on his wrist. "what a shame."

"fine, fine," josh sighed, trying to resist the smile that was breaking it's way onto his face. tyler was ridiculous. "but just because i want taco bell, you fuckboy."

"that's no way to talk to daddy," tyler whispered into josh's ear nonchalantly as he walked past the boy and towards the taco bell. "you coming, joshua?"

"depends which way," josh replied, catching up to tyler. "because yes."

"to which one?"

"oh, both."
