trigger warning; quite big homophobia

"how has everyone been this week?" the middle-aged lady behind the podium asked, causing tyler to roll his eyes.

needless to say, this had not been tyler's own choice. he definitely did not feel the need to go to a meeting where you had to dwell in yours and other people's issues on a saturday morning in a place that had been furnished and decorated with hideous objects. this had actually been tyler's mother's choice, and it was weird. his parents didn't care for him, they probably didn't even know if he was alive or not, but still they had control over the fact that he had to attend group therapy.

or that's what it was said to be, at least. tyler knew the reality though. no therapy place was called 'get through the rainbow'. that name didn't even make sense. if it was something like 'get through the dark' or 'get through the sadness' it'd be more understandable, but by the looks of it and his experiences, tyler knew it was far from therapy. it was actually the polar opposite, although some people liked to call it 'conversion therapy'.

if you're converting something it can't be therapy, that's what tyler thought. but his parents clearly had some ideas as to what tyler should do with his so-called 'issues with self-image' or whatever. tyler's opinion was that his parents could shove the whole thing up their asses.

but yet, even after his raging thoughts, there he was, sitting in a room full off kids around his age, aware that the lady stood in front of them was not as pleasant as she made herself seem.

tyler raised his arm up in the air, looking straight at the lady at the front. before she could say anything tyler opened up his mouth. "ma'am, for what reason exactly are we all here? will you do the same thing you did last time, where you spent three hours lecturing us about the idiocracy of those who let themselves be who they are and proceed to have a homosexual romantic relationship?"

tyler lowered his arm back onto his lap and watched as the lady turned red, clearly angered by what tyler had just said. he heard a few silent 'whoo's and 'go tyler's from the other teens sat in the room, and felt somewhat content with the small chaos he had just caused.

"well, you don't have to worry about having a homosexual romance now do you?" the lady asked, causing tyler to swallow a lump that had made its way up his throat. "and, as we all know, homosexual relationships and homosexual people are indeed sinful and should either be changed or, in the extreme, gotten rid of."

"this is complete bullshit!"
