josh watched bench boy walk in through the school gate. the scowl on his face would be enough to kill a small child, and the palms that were clenched into fists were kind of scaring josh. not enough for them to stop him from walking up to the boy and starting to walk beside him, though.

"what's your name?" josh asked the boy, looking him up and down as he did so.

"what's it to you?" the boy asked back, clearly annoyed.

"why are you so rude?"

"why are people so dumb?"

"just tell me your name!" josh said, his voice getting loud because of how frustrated he was becoming.

"just stop talking to me, you fucking idiot!" the boy yelled before storming off.

josh felt tears form in his eyes and he sprinted off to the nearest bathroom, got in a stall and locked the door. needless to say, his good mood for the day was ruined.

after a few minutes josh heard the door to the bathroom open, and he lifted his legs up against the stall door so that whoever came in couldn't identify him.

he listened as the person got in the stall next to him and slammed the door shut. josh peeked under the wall between the stalls to see the shoes of the person, but there were none. must be someone on the same business as him, then.

josh thought for a moment before opening his mouth. "hey, i hope you won't get disturbed if i start crying soon."

the person in the next stall let out a small chuckle before speaking up. "seems like we're here doing the same, then."

the voice of the person was quite pitchy and quiet, and overall it made josh think it belonged to a girl.

"mind if i ask your name?" josh asked, letting his legs fall down onto the floor.

"robert," the person answered, doing the same as josh. "and you?"

oh shit, josh wasn't sure if he should be honest or say something completely different. "w-william..?"

"that sounded more like a question, but alright," robert chuckled. "well, we can be the cry boys club, then."

"y-yeah," josh chuckled, his face red. right now he was more than happy that he and robert were in separate stalls and couldn't see each other. "i'm gonna start doing what i came to o now, but thanks for talking."

"okay," robert simply said, dropping his backpack on the floor as josh took a deep breath, letting the tears finally fall.

"your tears sound beautiful."
