"josh, i think we should talk," josh heard from behind him, and as he spun around, he saw ryan.
"mhm?"
"yeah, i'm sorry for not talking with you," ryan said, shrugging slightly. "doesn't mean that you didn't do a really fucked up thing."
"i know i did wrong, and i'm sorry," josh sighed and looked down at his feet. "you have every right to be mad."
"and i am, i'm really mad," ryan answered. "like, i don't think i've ever been this disappointed in someone. and i'm still really far away from accepting your apology."
"but will you accept it?" josh asked. "eventually?"
"i really can't say," ryan shrugged and wrapped his arms around his body. "brendon and dallon are furious. i don't know if they'll accept it for another ten years."
"it's my fault," josh quietly said, swallowing a few tears. "i did this, so i guess i have to just take the consequences."
"yeah, i guess," ryan replied. "anyways, i should get going. i'll see you around, i guess. don't do anything stupid."
"i won't."
and this time, maybe josh finally meant it.
