"why would you do that?" josh shouted at the back of bench boy's head. "what did he do to you?"
josh watched as bench boy turned around, a clueless look on his face. the boy tilted his head to the side, looking josh up and down before shrugging.
josh felt his cheeks heating up. he wasn't sure if it was anger or that he was just blushing because of the fact that the boy looked like he was checking him out. and josh liked it, even though he didn't want to. he only wanted to feel anger and hatred at the boy. first, he had broken onto josh's parent's property, then he had threatened to basically kill josh if he payed any attention to him, and then he had hurt ryan.
josh had every right to be angry. every reason, but he couldn't think reasonably enough.
needless to say to anyone at this point, but in case you missed it, josh was definitely head over heels for the scary delinquent.
and even though josh wouldn't admit it, he wanted the boy to feel the same. he also wanted him to stop harassing him and his friends, because he was quite sure that ryan wasn't going to be the last one.
after the train of thoughts had passed josh, he shook his head slightly and started walking towards the boy, who had stopped in the middle of the hallway. he was just staring at josh, not saying or moving. josh found this so, so creepy.
"answer me! what'd he do to you?" josh asked, his voice getting loud.
bench boy cocked his eyebrows and folded his arms across his chest, a move that to josh says that someone felt like the king of the world.
"oh, it wasn't him," the boy said, rolling his eyes afterwards. "you annoyed me, darling."
"i didn't do anything!" josh yelled. he didn't know whether to feel annoyed or happy about the 'pet name' the boy had used. "i just-."
josh cut himself off when the boy stepped closer to him and locked their eyes together. josh was a fair amount shorter than the boy, so he had to look up, whilst the boy had to bend his neck to see josh.
"listen up joshua," the boy said, his voice quite threatening. "i told you not to as much as cast a look my way. consider this your second warning."
"and what happens if i don't listen?" josh, in a sudden burst of confidence, asked the taller one.
"oh, you do not want to know," the boy replied, looking josh up and down once more before turning on his heels and walking off.
"you're such an asshole!" josh shouted after him, and saw a pair of middle fingers rise up in the air as an answer. he couldn't help but smile a bit as he watched the boy walk to the end of the hallway and turn away.
"what's got you so smiley?" ryan asked as he approached josh from the back.
"oh, n-nothing," josh stuttered, looking down at his shoes. "j-just, uh, h-homework..?"
"whatever floats your boat, i guess," ryan chuckled in an amused tone, shaking his head.
but i still didn't get his name, god damn it.
