"tyler, i don't think they're too far off," josh said. "you shouldn't do that."

"joshua, seriously," tyler sighed. "it's-.. it's whatever."

"i know it's something you're used to doing, but it isn't smart in the long run," josh replied, picking up some gravel and letting it fall down through his fingers. "it doesn't give a stable future."

"dude, do you think i have a stable future waiting, anyways?"

"none of us do, but this just destroys it even further."

"yeah, my life's been kind of fucked up for the past couple years. it doesn't seem to be changing, so might as well die."

"no, that's not what i'm saying," josh said, turning to tyler. "you need to stay alive."

"i just don't think it's worth it," tyler shrugged. "i've fucked up my life and body in more ways than one or two."

"nothing you've done can be that bad."

"you think?"

"well,-"

"you don't know what i've done, joshua," tyler quietly said. "so please, don't say that."

"okay."

"i need a smoke. actually, i need some weed. and more."

"uh.."

"i've got to get going. i have a few runs to do, and then i'm getting wasted."

"can i," josh started. "can i come with you..?"

"absolutely not."

"so, why can you go, then?"

"it's a different thing."

"no, it isn't."

"you are inexperienced. i'm not."

"you don't know what i've done," josh stated. "so you can't say that."

"i'm a drug dealer, for fucks sake. how can you say you're experienced?"

"just let me."

"no, joshua. you're not coming."
