I never thought that I would be standing here, talking about what a great life Chase led. He was the most amazing person in the entire world, and he tried to overcome any obstacles that he was faced with, and he had to overcome a lot. Everyone around him said that he was damaged, that he was a hopeless and a useless case, but that wasn't the man that I saw. The man that I saw and knew was nurturing and he was kind and he cared for others. He was so welcoming to my son, Liam, when I found him and he came to live with me. Him and Jonathan had the closest bond, and one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do was explain to Jonathan that his dad isn't coming home. It hasn't been long, but I cry when sleeping at night, when rolling over not to a warm and loving partner, but the cold side of the bed where he used to lay. I loved Chase with all of my heart, and I always will.
