Mayleen's POV:
"Hurry change to your uniform, I told the boss you were in the bathroom. I covered you, but you gotta hurry before he comes." Elizabeth said carrying two trays in her hand. She then went to a customer. These past three days Elizabeth has been really nice to me. Eventhough I was quiet, she didn't mind. She's been working here for a week now. I guess she just wanted to make friends.
I quickly changed to my uniform and went to a customer that was raising her hand.

Charlie's POV:
I really think that Mayleen and I are making progress. I know she's shy, but just today she was able to talk to me and not let me start all the conversation so that's good. I would rather be friends with a person I'm going to be living with for a while rather then feeling awkward everytime we passed each other.
When she asked me if I have a job I had to lie. A bit. I can't let her know that my parents are the billionaire Laytons. I learn that from childhood that some people are willing to be your friends and make you happy if you're rich. I want real friends. The ones that doesn't care if you're rich or not, that will always be there for you in your darkest times. That's why I made sure nobody from my university know I'm a Layton. My parents understood, and payed big money to the university to keep quiet. None of my friends know who I am, not even Brittany.
That's why that night I wanted to tell her. So there's no secret between us. But then everything went wrong.
I tried to spot her through the window from my apartment. But she was rarely home. Sometimes I saw her walk to her bedroom. But when I try to call out, she couldn't hear me. But I'm taking it slowly. So its ok.
I arrived at campus. I still have ten more minutes before class starts. So I just sat in my car listening to music.
Seriously, Passanger - Let Her Go. I changed the radio station. Seriously, Neyo - So Sick. I changed the radio station again.
'Hey have you just got out of a relationship?'
Oh come on! Is there a radio station with songs that doesn't make me think of Brittany for a while.
Suddenly there was a knock on my window. I jumped up in my sit, startled.
It was just Dave. I opened the window.
"Dude where have you been man, I've been waiting for you. Class starts in five. Come on." He started walking towards the school.
I grabbed my bag, got out of the car, locked the door, and ran after Dave.

Mayleen's POV:
It was already 7pm and finally I am done with my shift. I am freezing and exhausted. But I still have to go to Lili's pet humane society. It's new and nobody really knows about it. Lili loves animals and wants to rescue and let people adopt these animals in need. I thought it was cool so I volunteered. Eventhough I volunteered for free, she still pays me, but not that much. Which I'm fine with.
I put on my scarf and jacket and headed out the door. When somebody tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hey, can I tag along?" Elizabeth said. Well I usually don't like this, but since she helped me today, I owe her one. The least I can do is let her tag along.
"Sure." I put my hands in my pockets. God its cold.
"Great." She smiled.
We both walked in silence. See, I knew this was a bad idea. I always try to avoid these awkward walking together things.
