I stared at my mum, rather shocked.
"mum, but I just started filming The Exhausting Journey, I can't just walk away ! "
"I know that honey, but I need to go back, and I won't go back alone"I was frustrated, knowing that I'll leave my "work" and friends, and everything behind. Again !
I stayed up late that night, trying to figure out how to tell Pamela and the others about me leaving. The next day I woke up at 8 o'clock, and dressed up.
And let my hair loose with no tie, even if I know I'd get tired of it at midday.
I headed down to our kitchen.
Where our maid Fiona making breakfast, mum was wearing a nice outfit, really nice for someone who's trying to move us back to Egypt with them while we don't want to.
She had her face sunken in some papers, which I assumed they were company-related.
I sat down in my usual seat next to Rajwan, who was having his seat next to Allison.I patiently waited for Fiona to finish breakfast as I revised today's script.
But maybe I should tell you how we actually met Rajwan.
When we were back in Egypt, before mum gets married to Emmanuel, aka my dad. She was a widow, and she used to take to a Syrian restaurant near our place which I really loved. We usually ordered Pizza, and in the Pizza section I saw him, he had those perfect recognizable brown-greenish eyes, and he seemed a bit younger than me, which made us in the same grade, but older than Allison.
I liked him very much, and when I became the French first daughter, mum realized that she should adopt someone to take path in the case of our biological father's shop ( which belonged to his dad, aka my grandfather but whatever )
I picked Rajwan, knowing he'll make a great brother for us, and a nice son for mum.So that's how it started, he's really polite, and his Syrian accent is awesome. And what I didn't know that he spoke fluent English and French, so I didn't have to worry about teaching him.
Anyway, I finished my breakfast.
And headed to the set, to tell the others.
Timeskip :
Hayden stared at me with his sad eyes, I was sitting on a chair, and everybody's eyes were on me. Pamela was giving her fully attention to me after she heard that her co-author was leaving the country.
"I'm sorry, Pamela. But It's not my decision, My mum said that we need to go back to Egypt"
Pamela made a face.
"I see that, but why can't your mother go alone ? We need you here""But I've been taking my tests online, and didn't have any classes, that's bad for my record there you know"
Hayden spoke up.
"well, We don't know what is the system there, but Pamela has a point, the show can't go on without the creator you know"Pamela nodded her head.
I paused for a moment, then my face brighten up. I had an idea.
"What do you say if we get the cast and crew to Egypt ?"
Caden groaned. "really now ?""yeah, since we're almost done with Fredrick and Katherine's scene. And we'll move on to the school scene. You know they have schools there, right ?"
Pamela seemed to get that as a bad idea, but the others seemed to get satisfied."what are we going to do about the plane tickets and all ?" she said, trying to get answers.
"um, you know I have a private plane, that won't be a problem"Johnny glanced at Hayden, who smiled.
Pamela seemed to become satisfied. She just needed a push.Johnny started.
"come on, Pamela. It'll be a great idea to change what we know about Muslims, and Arabic people and all."
Pamela sighed. "OK, fine"They started cheering, including me. I was quite happy that I don't have to leave them.
But when they stopped, I asked, rather confused.
"now what do you think of Muslims and Arabs ?"They all looked at each other.
