"ok, then. We'll see you later, Adelle. Bye, Rajwan."
He mouthed "goodbye" as Joselle smiled shyly.

I don't know if Christina doubted me or not, but one thing she might have knew, she knew that this wasn't what I wanted to say.

After they left, Rajwan turned to me.
"Adelle-"
"I know, I know, I don't know why I stood up for her if that's what you wanted to say."
I was upset.
Maybe because I knew that, deep down, I wish I told Christina the truth.
Of course Menna stole her calculater, there's no doubt about it.
But then what ?

Do I want to ruin her new friendship ?
Of course not.
Rajwan noticed my expression, which was turning to sadness, and touched my shoulder.

"You're a good person, Adelle. That's why you didn't tell Christina the truth. You're trying not to ruin other people's lives."
I nodded sadly.
"yes, but..is it worth it ?"

He hugged me quickly. Because, you know, we're in a mall.
"of course it's worth it..! Christina will find out the truth eventually, and it won't be you who ruined their friendship, it would be Menna herself."

I smiled.
"Thanks, Rajwan. You're amazing."
That's when I felt my phone buzzing.
Hey, you done it ?

Of course, I was distracted so I forgot about Millie.
Great brain I got there.
Yes, I'm done. Thanks, Mills.
So what did you want to show me ?
I typed.

Can we FaceTime ?
She sent.
Of course. I replied.
I waited for a moment, then my phone's screen changed to..

Upcoming video call from..
Millie.

I pressed accept.
Immediately Millie's face popped up, smiling at me.
"Hey, Adelle ! OMG, you look so pretty today ! Where are you ?"
"I'm with my brother at the mall, and thanks !"

"anytime. well, I wanted you to meet someone."
I nodded.
The camera turned to four boys. One had brown chestnut hair, green eyes. Another one had curly black hair and brown eyes, one had pushed-up brown hair, tannish face, and the last one was black, had black hair, and brown eyes.

Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard , Gaten Matrazzo and Caleb McLaughlin.
I smiled warmly as they waved at me.

"How are you doing, Adelle ?"
Finn asked, beaming.

5 Minutes Later :

Halfway through the video call, A notification peered from the background of my phone.
It was my mum.

Hey, Honey ! Since your dad is leaving in a few days, I decided to meet up with your uncle, Ahmed, and fix things up. You don't have to come if you don't want to. I know you and your sister don't like him so much.

I was shocked. Almost too shocked.
"Hey, Adelle, Are you okay ?"
Noah asked, concerned.
"Y-Yes, I'm okay.."
I turned to Rajwan, and whispered.

"Rajwan, text mum. Now."

I continued to talk to my new friends, trying my best not to show my shock and anger as I did so.

Uncle Ahmed ruined my life, alright ?
Don't blame me if I hated mum for bringing him to our home.
