2 days later :

"Wake up, Miss. time for school."
I heard Fiona speaking as she opened the curtains, letting sunlight in.
I flinched slightly, and eventually sat on the bed.

Well, mum signed me up again in Omar El-Mochtar Middle School, but don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I loved the school, but I was just not ready to start studying for real.

I wore my uniform which consisted of blueish-green shirt, knee-length blue skirt, tall black stockings, and black 3-centimetres-heels shoes.

Then I headed down for breakfast.

When we were done, I said goodbye to my mum, and then we headed to our private car to go to school.

At the End of the car ride :

"Bye, Rajwan. Bye, Allison"
I kissed Rajwan's cheek, and waved at Allison then stepped ouf of the car. Staring at the school gates, which was backed by groups of girls.

They sort of stared at me at first, but eventually looked away. Kind of normal when you're the richest girl in the school.
I was finally in the school, looking for someone I might know. but sadly, I was absent too much, and I didn't know any.

A few minutes of looking lost, a girl in Hijab headed towards me. I knew her. I was her first friend since she started coming to school last year, and her name was Menna Tawfiq.

She smiled and hugged me tightly.
"Where are you girl ? I missed you so much !"
She spoke in Arabic, excited.
"I missed you, too. And I was so busy."
"You have to tell me everything. But meanwhile Let's say hi to Aya and Basma, They didn't think you would come today"

I nodded and followed her.

Well, At the beginning of the school year, I met Aya and Basma, who I counted as my "Egyptian best friends". Honestly they are awesome.

A few seconds later I was hugging Aya tightly, followed by Basma.
"oh my god, Where have you been ?"
"I was in America filming The Exhausting Journey "
"Cool !"

The bell rang afterwards, and we stood in lines.

First Class of the Day :

Social Studies was the first lesson of the day. Miss Salwa, the social studies teacher stood in the middle of the class as we all stood in our places.
My place was next to Basma, first desk in the first line at the door.

"Good morning, class. Please let out your books and notebooks, we'll study history today"
I nodded at her, and obeyed.

Time Skip :
Lunch Time :

I stood next to Aya in the yard, and Menna spoke.
"Hey, you remember Menna Fahim, our friend from 4/1?"
I nodded.

"She's standing over there, if you want to say hi"
I nodded and walked over to Menna, my first friend since I enrolled into Omar El-Mochtar.

"Hey, Menna. How are you ?"
She smiled flatly at me.
"Great, Thanks."
That's where I knew something was wrong. The Menna I knew would hug me and speak more enthusiastically than now. Is she mad at me ?

"What's wrong ?"
"Nothing, I'm fine."
I was confused, and decided to ask my friends about it.
"..I gotta go"

I ran towards Aya and the others.
"What the hell is wrong with her ? This isn't the Menna I know."
Aya stared at me confusingly, then spoke.
"Well, Menna was absent for 45 days in Term 1. And no one knows why."

I took it as a challenge.
"Looks like I'll have to find out by myself"
I muttered..
