The very next day, we started planning Mars' funeral.
Millie, Veronica and the others helped me (also Barron and my siblings), and all Matt did was complain that the seats weren't too comfortable.
"It doesn't have to be comfortable, you have to sit on it for a funeral !"Hayden replied back sassily.
Grateful for that.
"Thanks, Hayden."
I muttered.
"Anytime."Veronica was responsible to get the drinks for us so we won't starve to death planning that funeral. But here's what happened.
Veronica was walking slowly with a tray full of drinks, with small cups made of glass. She didn't see Judy's leg pointed out from her seat on purpose, and she tripped on it, and it sent the cups spiraling to the floor, all of them breaking into pieces.
We all gasped at the shock, not moving.
A few uncomfortable moments passed, and Barron was the first to lean down, trying to clean up the mess.
"No- don't !"
I exclaimed, stepping closer to him, trying to forbid him from cleaning the broken glass by his bare hands.
"For God's sake, Judy, sit up straight !"Allison yelled, stepping over to the broken glass as well.
But stopped when she saw me letting out a rubber gloves from my bag.
"Why are there glass cups anyway ?"
Hayden asked, standing still."I didn't find any plastic cups ! I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to break them."
Veronica exclaimed, apologizing.
"Don't worry. It's all Judy's fault."
Allison said reassuringly, stepping away from the broken glass.Judy just snickered. Of course, it has to be her ruining everything.
"Why would you try to help anyway, Barron ? You're here as a guest."
Matt asked, glancing over at the glass.
"Because this funeral is so important for you guys. I don't want to be the one ruining it."There were 'awws' at his reply, and I smiled.
"Thank you, Barron."
I said, awed as well. He smiled as I turned to Judy after."And you, leave."
I ordered, and Judy scoffed.
"Whatever. Not like I wanna be here anyway."
She left after."Not like we want you here anyway."
"Then why is she here ?"
I heard two mutter behind me, one of them, sure enough, was Allison."Also, Adelle, do you just carry these around, for fun ?"
Hayden asked, motioning to the rubber gloves.
"Well, for safety."
I emphasized."Also because she's kind of neat freak."
Allison commented, giggling.
I rolled my eyes."Better safe than sorry."
I muttered, going back to decorating the place for the funeral.Let me just say this, Allison can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
We finishing preparing the funeral that day's evening. It was a lot of work, but with all of us helping, it was kinda easy.
Little did I know that the funeral turned out to be a bigger mess.
To Be Continued..
