Red's POV
Thud.
We landed in a garden in Celadon City. The soil was damp. It was so damp that the worms had surfaced to breathe and the Pidgeys fluttered over the grass with their inky wings, each of them eating at the sudden buffet.
Charizard stretched his arms and yawned. Then he glanced at me. I pulled off his Pokeball and called him back.
The rain seemed to slow down. The black clouds were disappearing, though it was hard to conclude that because of the night sky.
The rain slowly fell down the blades of grass into the already wet soil, the droplets pausing on the surface before being sucked into the mud.
Lyra removed her shoes and turned them upside down. The water was hurled out of the pair. She removed her socks and started wringing out the water.
She curled her bare toes over the watery floor. Then plunged into the Earth, just to feel its coolness that satisfied her spirit in a thousand ways. But this disappointed me. I didn't find it annoying, but found it childish.
'Stop', I began. Lyra felt interrupted, she wore back her partially wet socks and then her shoes. She almost looked irated.
'I know we need to get things done', said Lyra. She tightened the straps of her bag and started to walk. 'But you don't even care that we just time travelled, like its no big deal to you'.
I couldn't say a thing because I didn't have enough words to utter out of my mouth. Lyra was good in arguing and I didn't dare to say a thing, at least to her.
'Celadon is that way, you're walking absolutely opposite to it'. I started to walk in the right direction. Lyra jogged to me and walked behind me like a sidekick.
The streets were open with a street light every hundred meters. The night was silent. The street had a vibrant shade of gray.
I was not expecting people walking around that late but two were seen. They both were in a distance, so I could not deduce much about them. They walked lifelessly past the Pokecentre.
Lyra increased her speed in suspicion. We walked silently behind them.
'They look like thieves', Lyra whispered. I nodded and advanced. I maintained my speed and avoid achieving more as they could have noticed me easily.
It could not get any creepier. The two men stopped outside the Game Corner. We had a tree as our cover. We silently watched them both. One of them grabbed out a key and started to open the lock. The other looked here and there.
Their clothes were black, from their shirts, to their shoes. Then, the red R team rocket logo was flashed on the pocket of one of the men.
'Team Rocket ?', asked Lyra. 'What are doing in a Game Corner ? Stealing points ?'.
'Well, no. The game corner has an underground passage leading to their hideout'.
The two grunts walked inside. Lyra and I slowly walked to the front door of the game corner. Lyra was standing at the the other end of the door. We peeked together inside. The grunts were gone, leaving the passage open.
We hurried inside to the staircase leading to the Team Rocket Hideout. I looked down, it was darker than the darkest shade of the darkest color. I couldn't see any signs of light.
We walked downstairs. The stairs were scary, I could fall down any minute. They were steep and felt like stone. I remembered the hideout to be iron floored.
