Ethan's POV
The sun shone bright, and the wind calmed down to it's absolute velocity. I was tired of walking, and all the hope that was left, was fading away. I was perspiring hard and had no more energy to walk.
'How far was Cherry Grove again ?', asked Lyra, making sure we were on right track.
'A kilometer or two from New Bark Town', I said, but my statement contradicted the fact we walked more than three kilometers. Lyra looked at me as if I was joking or I was just a stupid person who studied the Atlas vigorously and still didn't know the way from his own town to the nearest one.
'Once we reach Cherry Grove, you're dead', said Lyra. 'You've made me walk a lot, if I had just gone on my own, I'd be back from Mister Pokemon's house by now'.
'If you think that way then fine, go on your own then. I'm not the one dragging you with me', I said, rudely. 'Just remember that you'll be literally on your own after that'.
'I wouldn't be on my own', said Lyra, interrupted by a loud cry.
Suddenly, a Pokémon came limping towards us. It had brown fur, a bushy tail that had a cream-colored tip, and a furry collar also cream colored.
It was small in height, about a feet. It was crying softly with some loud cries in between.
'What is that ?', I asked, excited to see a new Pokemon.
'It's hurt', said Lyra, walking close to the Pokemon. 'It's badly hurt, we need to take it to the PokeCentre'.
'Okay', I said, trying to pick up the Pokemon in my arms. 'Let's take you to a safer place'.
We ran straight and finally were in Cherrygrove City. A sign board was placed outside the entrance - Welcome to Cherrygrove.
As we entered the city, we were greeted by an elderly person. He wore a maroon sweater with blue baggy pants. He barely had any hair on his head and wore sport shoes. He walked to us.
'Hello, trainers', he said, suddenly his eyes widened after seeing the injured Pokemon. 'Oh, now's not the time. Let's take this Pokemon to the PokeCentre first'.
'Do you know where it is ?', asked Lyra, worried.
'Yes, follow me', said the man, get started running, I was surprised to see him run, he must be an athlete when he was young.
We continued running after him and get led us to a red roofed three storey building with PC written outside.
We walked inside and the man gestured us to go to a lady who sat at the reception.
The lady had pink hair with two ponytails from either side which were closed to form a loop. She wore a nurse's clothing. She wore a badge with Emily Joy, written on it.
'Welcome to the Poke-', said Emily Joy, smiling, but interrupted by the old man.
'This is not the time, take this Eevee, it's injured', said the old man.
'Blissey !', called Emily Joy and a fluffy bug pink Pokemon walked outside a room with an egg in a huge pocket.
Lyra and I just watched what was happening as we never got to see how a Pokemon Centre looked like. Only Pokemon Trainers have business to do in a Pokemon Centre. Others go to normal hospitals.
PokeCentre was a nice place. It also had a magazine stand, sitting area and rooms.
I looked around, there was an elevator which went upwards with a sign board next to it saying Rooms and Washrooms. Then there was another elevator next to it which went downwards saying Trading Centre and Virtual Trading.
So I could easily tell that it was a high-tech place. It also had a huge Johto Map on a wall with amazing details. It had a red dot on a PokeCentre with You are here written on it. I grabbed out my Pokegear and clicked a photo of the map.
'She is very ill, she hasn't eaten anything for at least five days, I'm glad she survived. Thank you for saving her', said Emily Joy, with a thankful but still sad expression.
'Will she be okay Miss Emily ?', I asked. 'She looked really injured'.
'Yes she will be. And call me Nurse Joy', she said. 'But she will take time to recover'.
'I want to get my Pokemon healed too', I said. 'And maybe Lyra wants to get her too'.
'Oh yes', said Lyra, finally entering the world from her thoughts.
'To whom does the Eevee belong to ?', asked Nurse Joy, curious.
'No one, we found her on Route 29', I said.
'Oh, I thought one of you must be the owner', said Nurse Joy.
'Ethan, I think we should go now', said Lyra. 'We're already late'.
We walked outside, leaving the old man to take care of the Pokemon. It wasn't good, we just left the Eevee like that with no support.
We continued to Route 30 when a voice stopped us from going.
'Hey, kids. Wait', said the same old man, running after us. 'Thanks for helping the Eevee, you two are perfect Pokemon Trainers. But I could tell that you are rookies, so here, take this'.
He had two microchips in his hands.
'What is that ?', asked Lyra.
'Oh, this is a map installation chip. Just insert it in your Pokegear', said the old man.
'But we can't take-', I said, the old man handed me both the chips and ran back towards the PokeCentre.
'Uh, okay. I'm taking this then', said Lyra, snatching one of the microchips from my hand and inserting it in a slot in the Pokegear.
'You know what you're doing ?', I asked, confused what to do with the card.
'Yes', said Lyra. The screen in her Pokegear displayed Installing... and an option appeared saying Johto Map. 'It works'.
I did the same and the same thing happened. I opened the map and checked out the Johto Map.
'We have the map now, what're we waiting for ?', said Lyra, continuing on Route 30.
'Hey, wait for me', I said, running after her.
'So, you are coming with me now ?', asked Lyra. 'Back to New Bark ?'.
'Nah, I think I'll continue from Mister Pokemon' House', I said. 'You know I don't wanna lag behind'.
Lyra hit me with her elbow on my stomach.
'Ouch ! It hurts', I said, and it really did hurt. I rubbed my palm where she hit me.
'Haha', said Lyra, laughing.
'Oh, really ? Wait !', I said, running after her as she continued on Route 30.
