(Jisoo pov)
"Are you sure you want to stay home? Your brother will be there."
"Yeah, I'm not feeling all that up for it. But I'll go next time."
"Okay sweetie. I'll bring you back something."
"Thanks mom." Jisoo smiled, getting up from her spot on the couch and hugging her mom before letting her and her father out the door.
They were on their way to a dinner with her older sister, and older brother, who just returned from his honeymoon.
And as much as Jisoo missed him, she just didn't feel like sitting at the table and listening to how amazing their vacation was.... and how much they loved each other.
And how much she secretly hurted.
Jisoo shook her head and walked into the kitchen. Opening into the pantry and reaching in for the cereal when her phone began buzzing.
She halted her reach and went to it, looking confusedly at the caller id before answering it.
"Mom? Did you forget something?"
"No, you just never told me you were having Jennie over. Is that why you didn't want to go to dinner?"
"Huh? I don't have any plans with Jennie?"
"Then why did I just talk to her in the driveway?"
"Are you s-"
Jisoo was cut off by the sound of the doorbell. Her heart soon started to race as she realized Jennie was indeed at her house.
"Jisoo?"
"Oh sorry. I guess she came over unexpectedly?"
"Okay. Well I don't mind Chu, as long as you guys don't go out. Stay indoors okay?"
"O-Okay." The doorbell rang again. Jisoo just staring at it as she said bye and put her phone down. Taking a breath in.
Why did Jennie come?
She checked the clock. Five in the evening was such a weird time to pay someone a visit.
The doorbell rang a third time. Jisoo knew she'd have to answer it. As she finally began walking closer, she heard a soft voice speaking from the other side of the door.
"Jisoo? I know you're in there. I... can I come in? Can we talk? Please."
She reached for the top lock and turned it, then the bottom one, a bit slower. Jisoo opened the door up to Jennie who was standing there quietly.
"H-Hey." Jennie spoke, shuffling her feet. "Thanks for... opening the door."
"Yeah, no problem." Jisoo replied awkwardly. Stepping aside and letting Jennie in.
