Sequoioideae, popularly known as redwoods, is a subfamily of coniferous trees within the family Cupressaceae. It is most common in the coastal forests of Northern California and is known for being the largest tree in the world. It is one of the two state trees of California. Redwood holds a significant place in magical traditions due to its unique properties that amplify the innate magical abilities of witches and wizards. Historically, redwoods have been revered not just for their towering presence, but also for their mystical aura that resonates within the magical community. Edison Huxley Fielding and Elara Greenwood consider Redwood one of their favorite wand woods in the world to work with, attributing its ability to connect deeply with its user's magical core and enhance spell casting capabilities.

To keep the wand in top form, cover the wand in ash at least once a month or whenever its luster begins to fade, indicating it needs care. It prefers antlers and horns as handles and igneous rocks and fire-based stones (like fire opals and rubies) as embellishments.
