Teak is a tropical hardwood tree species placed in the flowering plant family Lamiaceae. Some forms of teak are known as Burmese teak, Central Province teak, as well as Nagpur teak. T. grandis is a large, deciduous tree that occurs in mixed hardwood forests. It has small, fragrant white flowers arranged in dense clusters at the end of the branches. These flowers contain both types of reproductive organs. The large, papery leaves of teak trees are often hairy on the lower surface. Teak wood has a leather-like smell when it is freshly milled and is particularly valued for its durability and water resistance. The wood is used for boat building, exterior construction, veneer, furniture, carving, turnings, and other small wood projects.

Teak, as a wand wood, is relatively new to the United States but it has much acclaim around the world for its resistance to decay, teak is held in the highest regard in Myanmar, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, and Thailand. It is a dense and heavy wand, and quite durable. It is also well known as a warrior's wand. These witches and wizards take pleasure from confrontation and being under pressure. They may create their own drama to keep being caught in a fight or tension.

However, these people can also be quite spiritual. They feel a call towards religion or various spiritual experiences. They are open to happenings beyond their current understanding and are generally receptive to new ideas. They can be a bit rambunctious in the classroom and have a natural disregard for most authority figures, especially strict ones. As they thrive on attention (and an audience), it is better to disregard their antics altogether or simply smile at them.

A talent for handling and riding horses is common among these folk. A leather-like scent is emitted by teak wands when it feels delighted. If it is irritated, this smell is accompanied by scarlet, silver, and cerulean sparks. May become lighter if exposed too often to sunlight, and become a silver-grey color. Teak wands are at their strongest during the spring and autumn. This wand appreciates the influence of quartz and responds well to quartz being embedded into it. Teak prefers cores of a buoyant nature.
