An apricot is a fruit, or the tree that bears the fruit, of several species in the genus Prunus. Usually, an apricot tree is from the species P. armeniaca, but the species P. brigantina, P. mandshurica, P. mume, P. zhengheensis and P. sibirica are closely related, have similar fruit, and are also called apricots.

Apricot is prized throughout Iran, Egypt, Australia, China, Japan, and Armenia as it is rumored to bestow its owner with optimism and fortitude. In the United States, Apricot is prized in the Midwest. These witches and wizards have bright presences, and are generally happy people. They have sweet tooths and may over-indulge in sugary substances. Despite their sugar heavy diet, they often have glowing and unblemished skin. These people are usually extroverts or ambiverts, but do enjoy their alone time and solitude. They need time to think and let their mind wander. Philosophy, life, and death are among their most thought about subjects. They possess amazing fortitude, and can handle more sorrow than the average person. This same fortitude, and their own self-reliance, can make them isolate themselves from other people, as the owner thinks they have to go their path alone. They feel like they have to live up to a certain image, especially as a symbol or inspiration of strength and perseverance for others. Their perseverance guarantees that they will go it alone until they physically can't– often it is at their physical lowest that they accept help from other people.

As such, they place many unneeded burdens on themselves in an effort to provide a sense of security for others in difficult places, and be their support. It is hard for them to ask for help, even if they desperately need it. Though they discuss abstract and philosophical topics well, it overwhelms them or makes them feel guilty to discuss their own emotions or problems. The possibility of being accused of being whiny or outright dismissal of said emotions or problems gives the apricot wand owner much anxiety and doubt. This wand wood's talents lie in magic to do with purification, abstract transfiguration, and arithmancy.

Best subjects often include: arithmancy, transfiguration, defense against the dark arts, and history of magic. Due to the combustive aspects, there may be issues in potions and herbology (and perhaps care of magical creatures on occasion). Bright orange, yellow, and apple green sparkles come of this wand when performing spellwork. Its magic smells of apricots, snow, and red clovers. If this wand seems less peppy than usual, cover it with a layer of honey (and preferably a layer of freshly fallen snow collected in midday sun as well). Apricot wand owners tend to get along well with pomegranate wand owners.
