Acer saccharinum, commonly known as silver maple, creek maple, Silverleaf maple, soft maple, large maple, water maple, swamp maple, or white maple, is a species of maple native to the eastern and central United States and southeastern Canada. It is one of the most common trees in the United States. Renowned not just for its prevalence, the silver maple holds a storied place in magical lore. Often thought to harbor mystical energies, these trees are said to whisper secrets to those who listen closely and are believed to enhance the intuitive abilities of those who seek guidance under their sprawling branches. According to an old legend, a great sorcerer once sought the wisdom of the forest and, upon sitting beneath a towering silver maple, he was granted visions of the future. As the story goes, the tree whispered to him the fate of nations, foretelling peace and war alike. To this day, it is said that those who fall asleep beneath a silver maple on a clear night may dream of distant lands and untold stories, all while feeling a profound sense of calm and inspiration.

Prized in North America, the Silver maple makes for a sturdier and more independent wand than the sugar maple. They are not as food- or cooking-oriented either. Whereas the sugar maples help to support plants around them, the Norway maple discourages undergrowth. Thus, the owners of Silver Maple prefer to work and travel alone and are not as good at dealing with others, especially those in emotional distress. They tend to prioritize themselves and believe in being happy with who they are as people before pursuing romantic relationships. Those chosen by silver maple are more patient than the average maple wand owner. Silver maple wands are particularly adept at enhancing the caster's self-reliance and independence, making them well-suited for spells related to intuition and personal insight. They excel in charms and enchantments that bolster one's connection with inner truths and ideas, as well as defensive spells that require patience and precision.
