Jacaranda is a genus of 49 species of flowering plants in the family Bignoniaceae, native to tropical and subtropical regions of Latin America and the Caribbean. It has been planted widely in Asia, especially in Nepal. A cosmopolitan plant, Jacaranda mimosifolia is quite common in southern California, Florida, Argentina, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Zambia and has been introduced to most tropical and subtropical regions to the extent that it has entered the popular culture.

Wands with Jacaranda as their wood have the potential to be incredibly powerful, depending on their owner's growth and environmental influences. If their owner is in a negative environment (physically, mentally, spiritually, or emotionally), this wand will compensate (may overcompensate depending on the core) and be tremendously more powerful to provide their owner with a better means of protection. It may act independently to assist its owner in bad times. If the owner faces little difficulty, then this wand will remain at its normal power level, not weakening but not growing stronger either.

This wand's power and potential also depend on the intrinsic drive of its owner. If its owner is lazy or negligent to their wand (and/or studies), this wand will not grow or perform as strongly as other Jacaranda wands. If the owner takes care of their wand and is attentive to their studies and practice, this wand's power is exponentially increased. The owners of Jacaranda wands tend to be mature for their age, bold, and wise. They see beyond the surface level and excel at both pulling apart systems and putting them back together.

Assertive, these witches and wizards prefer to take action first as they rely on their intuitive knowledge of the systems surrounding them. Their boldness comes from their insistence on trying new things and their fearlessness when tearing down the old. Manipulating objects, systems, ideas, and people comes naturally to them. They can be mischievous when bored and may manipulate people for their amusement. Not that they get caught very often, as they are good at putting on a facade of innocence. When it comes to relationships, these people love with all their hearts. It is difficult for them to take that not everybody likes them, and it is especially difficult for them to accept that somebody they love doesn't love them back. At their worst, they may force their love on people, try to manipulate the object of their affections into loving them, or be destructive (self-destructive or otherwise) because of this. An adoration for metaphors and poetry is common among owners of this wand wood.
