Y/n’s POV-
I woke up to the sun in my face from my window, squinting my eyes as they began to open and I began to step out of bed. I felt much less tired than the previous day, and the anticipation of getting to go see my village gave my body all the more reason to get out of bed.
I looked into the mirror and saw that my hair was an absolute mess. I quickly undressed and grabbed a towel, heading to the washroom to shower before I left. After a few minutes I dried off and returned to my room to dawn a clean pair of clothes.
I put my boots on and even my belts, just in case I would need to use my gear later in the day. I grabbed my father’s jacket and cape and put them on, knowing the mornings were always a little chilly. After combing through my h/l h/c hair and putting it up, I felt satisfied with my appearance and walked down to the mess hall to get something to eat before I left.
The mess hall was definitely quieter than it was the night before, considering eight thirty was probably late to a cadet headed to morning training here. I got my food and ate it quickly at an open table near the doors.
When I had finished, I cleaned up and set my tray aside and began walking towards the stables to meet Levi. When I got there Levi had two horses, a black horse that he ran his hands against and fed, and a white one with a silky white mane.
"I assume you know how to ride a horse, right brat?" Levi said.
"Uh, yes sir," I responded.
He handed me the reins to the white horse, "Then here's your horse, you'll need one to get to and from the training grounds from here and for expeditions. She/he's a newer one that we have received, so I recommend that you spend some time riding her/him. Trust is an important thing to develop with your horse."
"Yes sir," I said as I began to run my hand down the horse's cheek. She/he was truly beautiful, her/his eyes were a light blue, like the sky that complimented her/his white hair. I should probably name her/him soon.
"Hurry up and put a saddle on her/him so we can get going," Levi said, pointing to a saddle by an empty stall. Most likely my horse's stall.
I quickly saddled my horse and jumped up onto her/him, struggling a bit due to the height of these horses compared to my horse back home. Levi nodded at me as I got up, signaling it was time to go.
We lightly kicked our horses and began our journey to Trost. The ride was pretty silent for most of the way, occasionally Levi would sigh loudly, probably deep in thought as we rode along the trail to Trost.
Levi's POV-
The ride the Trost felt very uncomfortable. I was still thinking about how Y/n thought I hated her, I don't take hate lightly and definitely wouldn't hate her just because she was difficult sometimes.
If I was going to be spending so much time with the Brat I might as well clear the air, for her, but also for me. I was still struggling with the fact that she got away from me back in Shiganshina. I was the only person I knew who truly taught themselves how to use the gear, so believing this brat did it at such a young age really threw me off.
I just needed to get over myself though, accept that she is a talented kid and train her to be a soldier.
"You do know I don't hate you like you said right?" I said, breaking the silence of our trip.
She seemed slightly taken aback by my sudden conversation, but eventually her expression softened and she spoke, "I suppose, I had just thought because you were so upset that I would be trained and put in your squad that you hated me."
