Y/n’s POV-
When I awoke, the warmth of Levi beside me wasn't there as it had been when I drifted off. Despite the sudden emptiness I felt without his presence, my head was feeling a bit better. The throb was gone, but the pain lingered a bit. I hadn’t stood yet, so that might change things a bit. From the looks of it I’d rather not try soon.
I wonder what time Levi was planning on having that meeting, hopefully he would send someone up to warn me to come down before it started. Out my window I could tell the sun was already drifting away and I’m sure the meeting wouldn’t be after dark with all we have going on.
I worked my way up to prop my back on my bed frame and took some breaths. I wonder where Levi had gone, probably to his room to do some paperwork, I’m sure he has a lot. Maybe he’ll let me help with some tonight, I’d be able to sit down and wouldn’t be all alone in my room.
My thoughts drifted around for about thirty minutes, one minute being on the next expedition, another about how Hanji is doing with figuring out Eren’s abilities, and finally on how my duvet still faintly smelt of Levi. Was it weird to know and think about the way he smelt? Was it weird that it comforted me? Surely not, he was my best friend after all.
I had never had a best friend before Levi so I guess I wouldn’t know too well. I… don’t know Eren’s scent. But that is probably because he is like my brother, people don’t smell their brothers; that's weird. Why am I even putting so much thought into all of this, all those weird things Eren has been telling me must be infecting my brain somehow.
Suddenly a knock came at my door, it must be someone here to tell me to go downstairs for the meeting. As the door opened I pulled the duvet off of me and moved to get up. To my surprise, Levi stood at the door.
“What do you think you are doing?” he asked bluntly.
“Um… getting up for the meeting,” I said, he didn’t actually mean-
“I told you I would carry you down,” his voice showed no sign of embarrassment, how did he not find this embarrassing.
“Levi no! That’s so cheesy, don’t we have a wheelchair somewhere around here?”
“Oh yeah, because I really want to wheel you down the stairs, that sure won't hurt your head,” he rolled his eyes, “this is faster anyway.”
Now it was my time to roll my eyes, but he was stubborn, I knew that better than anyone, “Fine.”
He came over and gently lifted me up, this must have been the way he carried me to his room without waking me up, so small yet so strong and delicate. We made our way downstairs, yet we didn’t he'd for our normal conference room, instead we passed it.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“To get Jaeger.”
“You couldn’t have gotten him before you got me, now he has to see me like this,” I sighed.
“Everyone in that room will see you like this calm down, plus had I gotten him first, I would have had to walk all the way back up the stairs to get you.”
“Well sorry for not wanting everyone to see you carrying me bridal style like I’m weak and unable to walk.”
“You aren’t, nurse’s orders, plus no one thinks you’re weak brat.”
“The nurse only said to avoid it, not stop doing it entirely.”
Levi just ignored me after that and I crossed my arms and huffed, how was he not tired carrying me like this the whole way here? Finally, we got to a stairwell which showcased a down Eren sitting on the step.
