Chapter 31

Y/n’s POV-

     Things began to be sorted out and Eren was freed from his imprisonment in the middle of the room, bloody and bruised from Levi’s painful beating. The Military Police and Nile seemed to not be pleased with this outcome at all, but I could see it on the faces of those I knew that joy was settling in for the decision.

     Erwin motioned for me to follow him as he walked through a side door leading to a corridor in the courthouse. He lead me to an office style room a little ways down the hallway and said that this is where everyone would be meeting to discuss Eren’s entry to the Survey Corps.

     A few minutes later Levi came in, it looked as though he had cleaned himself off a bit from the scene he caused earlier. He looked and me with a plain face, he hid deeply the emotions he was feeling, but I could tell he was feeling something. 

     “I’m sorry, I k-”Levi began.

     “Don’t apologize,” I interrupted.

     “No, I just, I know you and the brat are close, and I know I didn’t tell you this in advance and it was probably a shock and you are probably angry at me for taking it too far.”

     “Oh be quiet, cry baby. You did warn me, you let me know in advance it was part of the plan to secure Eren to our custody and that you didn’t want me to blame you. Of course I felt a tinge of anger when you first began, and it was hard to watch, but I quickly realized what you were trying to do, and it worked, Eren is now in our hands.”

     Levi let out a long, bored sigh and took a few steps closer to me, now in arms length, “I’m still sorry you had to watch him get hurt. He’ll probably hate me now too.”

     I gave him a small smile and put my finger up to his mouth to quiet him, “Don’t be like that, we all have to see some harsh things, that’s life, and as for Eren, he isn’t stupid, I’m sure he understands the significance of your actions for the trial. He won’t hate you…” I paused, letting my finger and hand rest at my side, “You know what? You try to be so tough and nonchalant, but look at you, caring whether Eren hates you or not; you’re such a softy.”

     I let out a small giggle as Levi became flustered, he pushed past me to lean against the wall behind me and let his eyes sink until they were small and looking off into the distance out a window. I heard footsteps and noticed Erwin move to stand beside me, he too was smiling at Levi.

     “My my Y/n, I never thought I would see the day where someone would call Levi a cry baby and not get punched in the gut, or see someone call Levi a softy, and have him actually become flustered,” Erwin chuckled out.

     “I have ears, Eyebrows, I can hear you. And she was really was asking for a punch to the gut though," Levi said with a fake air of bitterness.

     “Yes, yet you didn't Levi, and Y/n, might I add, I believe you have truly changed our Levi here for the better, you have given him some of your heart, and given him something more to fight for. He really has a new passion within him now that has not been present in the past, and I thank you for that.”

     “Thank you Commander, but it really isn’t me, Levi… well Levi opened up to me, without his cooperation I would have never gotten this close to him,” I said with a happy look over to where Levi stood, still refusing to look at me.

     Just then a rustling noise began to sound from the direction where the door was and Eren, Hanji, and Miche entered. Eren looked like a complete mess, Hanji had some supplies, probably to help clean up the wounds. Eren looked like he was experiencing every emotion at once until he saw me. His eyes lit up and he began to make his way over to me.
