Y/n’s POV-

When I began to gain consciousness, I could feel the warm light laying on my face, radiating heat on top of the blanket I was under. The air around me smells clean and for a moment I felt very pleasant, like I had lost sense of the reality I was in.

When my eyes began to flicker open I began to sink back into the reality of the universe. Titans. Death… Levi. This wasn’t my room, no wonder I felt so well rested, and no wonder I was able to sleep so late. It was obviously mid afternoon at this point, I had most likely slept through nearly the whole day. And I was able to sleep this long because I was in Levi’s room, just like that night before leaving for my first expedition.

I was still in my uniform as I hadn’t changed before going to the dining hall last night. How embarrassing, I must have fallen asleep on Levi then. But, with the initial embarrassment of being so vulnerable being allowed to sink in, I stood up and stretched my arms out at my sides.

I quickly ran my fingers through my hair to detangle my bed head and quietly made my way to Levi’s office. I opened the door as softly as I could, but the old door creaked and I heard rustling from the other side. I closed the door behind me and looked around, finding Levi beginning to sit up from the couch in his office.

Levi rubbed his eyes, as they showed how tired he was. I wonder what time he actually got to sleep last night, and he couldn’t have slept very well on that couch.

“Good morning sleeping beauty,” I said with a smirk.

“Oh, shut up brat, what time is it,” he asked.

“Can’t be any earlier than midday, so three-ish? I’m sorry for falling asleep last night, you know you could have had me sleep on the couch and you could have slept in the bed, it is your bed you know.”

“No, no, it’s fine, I slept fine on the couch, don’t apologize, you had a rough day,” Levi said, standing up and beginning to make his way to his desk.

He sat on his desk chair and let his elbows rest against his desk, his head in his palms and he let out a long sigh. He lazily pointed to one of the chairs in front of his desk and muttered, "Sit."

He looked up as I moved to sit down and looked at me, "How are you feeling?"

"After last night, getting it all off my chest and your comments, I'm feeling better. It's still hard to believe he's gone, and now I'm sure many of my friends will be going to the Military Police and Garrison, afraid of seeing...that…again."

"Do you wish you could run from the Scouts like you believe they intend to do as well? Do you also not want to experience...that again?" Levi asked, misinterpreting the remorse in my voice.

"I saw 'that' nearly four years ago, I fought 'that' nearly four years ago. If I was afraid of the Scouts I would have had you send me to the Military Police when you caught me. I'll just, miss my friends."

"I see… guess I wouldn't have blamed you if you had said yes though. Well, there was actually something I needed to talk to you about last night," Levi said, looking down from my eyes.

"Oh walls! I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have fallen asleep on you, you should have woken me up!" I raised my voice with guilt.

"It's fine, don't worry about it, it could wait, you needed your rest right then," Levi said, lifting his eyes back up to meet mine, the glint in his silver eyes projecting that of a faint smile back at me.
