The Pain Made Me Strong ~ Levi x Reader

Chapter 14

Y/n’s POV- 

     I went around the training grounds quickly to collect everyone who was in my squad and lead them to our forest entrance location on the west side of the forest like the paper had said. When we got there we scoped out a good place to set up as a base for the supplies we had brought with us and began to talk strategies.

     We stood in a circle and everyone looked at me, awaiting instruction, so I explained my strategy of having separate groups go off at the same time, and unless one group is in the middle of a raid, we are to report back every twenty minutes. 

     I began to think about who would go in each group, I want to put people in groups based on the skills they excel at, but also challenge those skills they struggle with. I gave it another minute’s thought as we sat in silence before finally speaking up.

     “Sasha you will lead Bertholdt and Hannah to raid other bases, Armin you will come up with a plan to protect the base with Mina and Connie, and Marco and me will go out and get as many kills as we possibly can to help our score. During our meetups we will discuss our groups and if any group needs more people to tag along,” I announced.

     I know Sasha has impeccable instincts when it comes to hunting, and can be quiet and stealthy to catch prey, so leading our raiding group should be no problem for her. As for Bertholdt and Hannah, I believe they will do well with the stealth and combat needed to be that group.

     Armin is extremely intelligent and has a way with coming up with elaborate plans and predicting other people’s moves far in advance, so he should be able to come up with a solid plan for protection. Mina will be key in helping Armin execute his plan, and Connie is strong and will be good back up for the two when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

     As for Marco and I, we both seem to have good leadership qualities, but both could be put into any of the groups. My speed and precision, and Marco’s agility and quick thinking will allow for us to hopefully make a good attacking team to keep our team ahead in kills.

     “For everyone who ends up leaving the base for any reason, if you come across a titan dummy, attack it, we will need as many kills as we can possibly get, then continue on with what you were trying to do,” I said and everyone nodded, seeming to understand our plan.

     Armin seemed to be thinking of a plan for defense, and was beginning and meeting with Mina and Connie. Sasha seemed to be explaining her method of stealth to Bertholdt and Hannah. As for me, I turned to Marco, a cadet I never really spoke to since he was always around horseface, and began to discuss what we would be doing.

     “So Marco, you ready to go out there and kill some dummies?” I said confidently.

     “I suppose so, I mean you put me in this group for a reason,” he said modestly.

     “You’re exactly correct, your agility and on the spot thinking will help us to take out dummies fast and defend ourselves from other groups who may try to take out those who are attacking, or try to get to the dummies first,” I said.

     Marco nodded, seeming to understand that I wanted us to work together with this, rather than just spread out and try to kill as many dummies as possible. 

     “You’re right Y/n, if we stay close and take out all the titans in one area together, we will eliminate the possibility of other groups taking out those till they are raised again later, meaning other groups will have to travel farther to get any kills at all,” Marco said, his quick thinking allowing him to understand my plan perfectly. 

     Marco seemed to be very sweet, and it seemed as if, with a little more time, we could get along very well, but as long as he was around Jean I doubt I would be spending anymore time with him after this mission.
