The Pain Made Me Strong ~ Levi x Reader

Chapter 7

Y/n's POV-

     I stayed with the scouts for three months before I would leave for the Cadet Corps. These three months flew by so fast. After that day with Levi, I often times would find him on cleaning sprees and would help him finish the job he was doing. 

    For the first month or so I had to be escorted everywhere I went outside of HQ due to trust issues since I was so new, but progressively the commander grew to trust me more and allowed me to go off on my own more often.

     The commander didn't want me to start any training with Levi till after I began being assessed in the Training Corps, so without training to do like other scouts, I had a lot of free time to kill.

     I spent my time doing various activities, sometimes I would help Hanji with her experiments, she would always be so excited to show me what she was working on and I was able to learn a lot more through the experiences. 

     Other days I would go visit Trost on H/n (horse's name) to visit my old village. They were finally beginning to resettle, which was a good thing. I helped a few while they were building new houses, shop stands, and starting new farms. They were always very thankful for my help and sad I couldn't stay, but they were proud I would be going into the military.

     The rest of the days I would take my gear out to the forest near HQ and practice my abilities, or sometimes I would just go sightseeing to calm my thoughts.

     Finally though, it was time to say goodbye to the scouts for the next three years. Granted I would be coming back for various expeditions, but it still felt a bit sad to be leaving. I found I got along well with the superiors here and really didn't want to have to go meet so many new people I would be forced to live with.

     I just didn't want to join the Training Corps, I would rather stay here with the people I already know. I guess these thoughts are the reason I'm joining in the first place, Commander Erwin wants me to have comrades my age that I consider my equal, not just superior officers. 

     Hanji and I had said goodbye yesterday after I helped her with a certain experiment we had been working on for a while. Commander Erwin was seeing me off outside of HQ and Captain Levi would be coming with me.

     I took a long look at my now empty room with two bags sitting on the bed with all of my things I had accumulated while I was here. I sighed looking around at how spotless the room was, 'Captain Levi really has made an impact on the way I see dirt,' now when I see dirt and messes it bugs me till it's clean.

     I picked up my bags and grabbed a handkerchief I had bought once in Trost and put it in my shirt pocket. With that I left the room and made my way to the front of HQ. When I got there Erwin was standing with Captain Levi who had a hold of both our horses, each with small wagons on the back.

     Each wagon had some boxes and bags in them with a small spot open for my bags on one of the wagons. I set my bags down on the wagon and walked up to Commander Erwin, giving him a salute.

     He smiled and me and told me to put my hand down, "We would have had you two take a carriage, but since you will need your horses we decided this would be best, the ride will be about an hour, maybe an hour and a half with the wagons."

     "Thank you for all you have done for me during my time here, I am very excited to officially join the Scouts in three years Sir," I said.

     "You are very welcome, I'm sure I will see you much sooner than three years for an expedition, but for now I wish you luck in your training," Erwin said, patting me on the back and walking back inside.
