Sanem works at her father's grocery store. Her parents think she has no goals and no future. So, they come up with a plan to pretend to marry her off to her childhood friend Zeberdjet. Her sister, Leyla is also in on the pretend plan. Sanem does not want to marry Zeberdjet. She is waiting for her albatross...her one and only true love. She dreams about him. She writes about him. She refuses to marry Zeberdjet. Sanem talks her sister, Leyla into helping her get a job where she works. Leyla takes her to work with her so Sanem can apply as a bring and take girl. Sanem isn't impressed with the job at first. She is afraid she will be bored. Leyla's boss, Mr. Emre hires Sanem.

Sanem meets Mr. Emre and his father, Mr. Aziz. They are very impressed with her photogenic memory. Sanem hears a lot about Mr. Aziz's other son, Mr. Can. He is a traveler, handsome, never stays put for very long, always running off to different parts of the country. He doesn't sound like someone Sanem wishes to meet.

Sanem meets Cey Cey and Guliz, who she likes right away. Cey Cey is extremely funny and Guliz is the work gossip. She doesn't like Mrs. Deren. She refuses to call her by her name...Sanem. She just calls her the other. She seems to yell a lot too. She also acts like she doesn't like Sanem.

Sanem keeps missing Can at the office. She has no idea what he even looks like. He arrived to be with his dad for the 40th anniversary of the agency his dad started. Can planned on only being there for just a few days and head back out to his travels. They were celebrating at the local opera house. Can's long-term girlfriend, Polen was flying in from London to be with Can. Can meets his father, Mr. Aziz in his office. Mr. Aziz asks Can to stay and run the agency. There is a spy among them that is stealing their clients and he wanted Can to find this spy. He told Can he needed to go away for a while to rest. He was going by boat. Can suggested Emre run the company, but Mr. Aziz told him that Emre was not creative enough. He needed his son, Can. Can said he would think about it.

Later that night at the opera house, Cey Cey gave Sanem the wrong directions on where to sit. He sent her upstairs to the private room D-2. The lights went out and it was very dark. Sanem could not see anything. All of a sudden, a man touched her arm and kissed her passionately. Can knew immediately it was not Polen he was kissing. This woman was shorter, had softer lips and an incredible smell. He never smelled anyone like her. When the kissed ended, she looked down and saw a pair of black dress shoes. The unknown man tilted her face back up to him and dived in for another kiss. Sanem liked it so much, she kissed him back. He held her tightly, caressing her back. She knew he had a beard because it tickled her face. When this kiss ended, Sanem ran away. No sooner then she left, Polen arrived at D-2, where Can was waiting for her. She apologized for being late. He kissed her cheek and they sat down. Can kept looking over the railing, trying to find the woman he kissed. He could not get her smell out of his head.

Sanem kept looking up to the D-2 room but couldn't see anyone. When the party was over, Sanem kept searching for her bearded man with the black dress shoes. There were so many men with beards and black dress shoes. She felt it was hopeless and she would never find him. She just couldn't stop thinking about that kiss. It felt like her heart was coming out of her chest. She just had to find him. She felt he was her albatross that she had been waiting for.

Can spoke with his father later that night and agreed to stay in Istanbul. He guaranteed he would find the company spy. Emre overheard from the doorway. He thought he would be the one running the company. He walked away before they saw him. Can sat outside for a while. He kept thinking of the woman he kissed at the opera house. Her smell was intoxicating. It was like wild flowers. He didn't know how to find her.

The next morning, Mr. Aziz left on his yacht. Can knew, but Emre did not, that their father was sick with a lung problem. Emre was very upset that Can was staying to run the agency. Nobody knew, but Emre was the spy working with his girlfriend, Aylin to steal the agency's clients.

Sanem was talking to Cey Cey and Guliz at the coffee station when Can walked up behind them. Sanem was bad mouthing Can. Cey Cey and Guliz tried to tell her he was behind her, but she didn't take the hint and kept talking bad about him. When she finally realized he was behind her, he came up beside her and asked her name. She said her name was Sanem. He repeated her name. She repeated it back. Deep down, she thought she was fired. Can found out she just started work at the agency yesterday. He told his brother they were not to trust anyone, except Sanem. Since she started work yesterday, she could not be the spy.

Emre did not know what to do. He could not send Aylin anything thing due to the computers and laptops now required pass codes. He had to find someone to help him. He overheard Sanem on the phone upset over her father owing someone $40,000 dollars. He knew then he would persuade Sanem to help him ruin the company without her having any knowledge. She was young and naive. He would convince her that his brother, Can was trying to ruin the company and put everyone out of work.

Emre called Sanem into his office to talk to her. He told her his brother, Can was bad. He was trying to ruin the company. He needed her help to stop him. She agreed to help. Emre offered her $40,000 for her help, which Sanem declined. She would help him because it was the right thing to do.

A red folder was delivered to the office for Emre. Sanem signed for it. She accidentally put it with files that Can requested. She tried to get it back, but she could not. She went and told Emre that the file was with Can in his office. Emre flipped out and grabbed her by her arms hard. He shook her so hard that her head whipped back. She cried out in pain. He was calling her stupid and kept saying she had ruined him. All the while still shaking her. Her arms were burning where he had a hard grip on her. Sanem was crying at this time. Can heard Emre yelling and came out of his office to see what was wrong. He saw what Emre was doing to Sanem. He yelled for Emre to let go of her. It was like Emre could not hear him. Can grabbed Emre and forced him to let go of Sanem. He grabbed Emre by his shirt collar and was in his face. Can could not remember the last time he was this angry. Once free, Sanem ran away.

Can was yelling and pushing Emre. He was asking Emre what he thought he was doing putting his hands on an employee. Emre said Sanem was an idiot. She could do nothing right. He told him Sanem lost an important file that was shipped to the agency for him. Can told him that was no excuse to brutalize an employee. He told Emre to go home. Can went looking for Sanem. She had run to the conference room and curled up in a ball under the table. She was scared. Nobody had ever touched her in that way. She laid there and cried while rubbing her sore arms. Can finally searched the conference room. He saw nobody in there, but he heard someone crying. The lights were out and it was dark in there. He turned his cell phone light on and searched for the sound. He found Sanem under the table crying. He sat down beside her. He kept saying her name, but she wouldn't answer. He reached out to touch her arm and she flinched in pain. He shined the light on her arm and noticed the bruise that Emre left. He told her he was so sorry. He rolled her over, so her head was in his lap. He rubbed her head and whispered nice things to her. Sanem calmed down and told him she wanted to go home. He told her come on. He would drive her. She sat up and looked at him. She asked him why he was being so nice to her. He asked why he wouldn't be nice. He told her he liked her. She was kind, honest and funny. She told him she really didn't want to work here anymore, but she needed the job. She didn't want to marry Zeberdjet. Can laughed and asked her why she would have to marry this Zeberdjet guy. She said her parents arranged it. If she continued working at her father's grocery, they said she had to marry Zeberdjet. Can told her not to quit. Sanem told her she was afraid of Mr. Emre. He told her then she would work for him and only him. I will not let Emre touch you anymore, he said. He told her get up and he would take her home.

They got in his truck and headed out of the parking garage. Sanem told him she didn't know where to go. She couldn't go home looking like this. Her face was puffy from crying and she had bruises on her arms. He asked where she wanted to go. Sanem told him she didn't know. If she went to Ayhan's and her brother, Osman saw the shape she was in, then he would kill Mr. Emre. Can told her he had a place they could go. Sanem smiled and said OK.
