EPISODE 48

Sanem and Can were transported to the hospital. Sanem had a slight neck injury and lacerations to the side of her face. Can was in a coma. His friends and family were standing outside his glass door. They were watching, crying, praying for him to wake up. Mevkibe and Nihat showed up and immediately wanted to know where Sanem was. Emre told them she was down the hall with Leyla. They ran to their daughter's room. Sanem was screaming to see Can. Leyla and the nurses were trying to calm her down. Sanem pulled out her IVs and fought to get out of bed. Leyla told her she had to calm down. She was still pregnant, and she was going to harm the baby. Sanem did not hear her. She wanted to be with her husband. Nihat and Mevkibe entered the room, just as Sanem stood up from the bed. Nihat grabbed his daughter and yelled at her to calm down. Sanem said she wanted to see Can. She screamed that he was dead, and nobody was telling her the truth. Nihat told her he was not dead. He was alive but in bad shape. Sanem told her dad she wanted to see him now. Nihat told the nurse he would take responsibility. Mevkibe and Nihat walked her down the hall to see Can. She stood outside the glass door calling his name. She banged on the window to try and wake him up. She started to collapse but Emre caught her. The doctor came to give them an update. The doctor told them Can's life was at risk. Can suffered a huge head injury during the accident. He suffered a brain shock. Can was in a medically induced coma to give his brain time to rest. He told them the brain was the most complex organ and they should prepare for the worst. Sanem started sobbing while Emre and Aziz held her.

A few weeks later, Sanem got her neck brace removed with no effects from the injury. Can was still in a coma, but she visited him every day. She read to him from her book. She talked to him about everything that was going on. She held his hand. She kissed him. She never missed a day of not visiting him. She would hold his hand and cry at his bedside. She wanted her husband back. She needed him. Their unborn child needed him. A month had past, Emre, Aziz and Sanem were entering the hospital to visit Can. The doctor came and told them that Can had woken up. All three ran to his room. Can asked them what happened to him. The doctor explained he was in an auto accident and has been in a coma for a month. Can asked if anyone else was in the accident with him. Sanem spoke up and said she was but she was fine now. Can just stared at her. Sanem asked if he was in any pain. He told her a little and then he thanked her. Sanem looked at Emre and Aziz. Why did he thank her? The doctor asked Can if he knew everybody in the room. Can said yes...his dad and his brother Emre. He asked Emre how he was. Emre said fine and smiled. He then looked at Sanem and asked if she was a doctor. Sanem had tears in her eyes. She said she was Sanem...his Sanem...his wife. Can was shocked. He asked where Polen was. Sanem left the room in tears. Can told his family his head was all messed up. He asked how was he married when he didn't know this girl and what happened with him and Polen? Emre told Can he fell in love with Sanem and Polen didn't stand a chance. They decided to not mention his unborn child. Sanem waited outside his room. She refused to go back in, but she couldn't leave the hospital. Can told his father the last thing he remembered was meeting his father backstage at the agency's 40th anniversary party. He had lost 2 years of his life.

The next day, Sanem continued sitting outside his room after everyone else had left. She would not enter his room, but she still wanted to be near her husband. Can came out of his room and sat down beside her. He started asking her questions about their life together. Can asked if they were really married. Sanem said yes. He told her the last thing he remembered was meeting his dad for the 40th anniversary party. He asked when they met. Sanem told him that night. She was employed with the agency. She told him she was Leyla's sister. He asked if they got close while working at the agency. Sanem told him yes and then they fell in love. Can asked her what happened next. She explained he became head of the agency after his dad went away for a while. She told Can they had many obstacles in front of them while they were falling in love. She said the agency went bankrupt after Can left for a year on his boat. He asked why he left for a year. Sanem told him it was another obstacle that got thrown at them. He asked what she did for the year he was gone. Sanem had tears in her eyes when she told him she spent 6 months in a hospital. Can was shocked to hear this. She told he came back after being gone for year. They reconciled and were getting ready to leave so they could travel the world on their boat. They got in the accident while they were heading to her parents' house and now they were here. Can told her it sounded like they lived a life of love. Sanem said she was still living it.
