LOST EPISODE BETWEEN 39 AND 40

Sanem's POV

The next morning, Sanem woke up alone in her marriage bed. Can never came home. She had not seen him since he walked out of the hospital. She wanted to tell him that she knew Yigit burned her notebook. She wanted to tell him that Huma and Yigit made up the fact that Yigit was paralyzed. She wanted to tell him how sorry she was for doubting him. She wanted to tell him she loved him. She wanted to hold him. But, none of that was to be, because her husband was gone. Sanem had cried herself to sleep. She immediately grabbed her cell phone, but there were no calls or text messages from her husband. She tried to call him again. But like the other times, the call would not connect. She felt lost, alone and hopeless. She had lost the only man she would ever love. This was her fault. If she had only taken his hand. Why didn't she take his hand? She felt nauseated. She ran to the bathroom and vomited until she was dry heaving. She slowly walked through the house. She found Leyla and Emre in the kitchen. She knew she looked like the walking dead, but she didn't care. Leyla ran to her and asked if she was OK. Sanem started crying and said no and she never would be again. She told Emre and Leyla that Can was gone. He ran away. She told them it was all her fault. Emre told her it was not her fault. He told her there was no excuse for what Can did. He left a man paralyzed. Sanem glared at Emre. She told Emre that was where he was wrong. She told Leyla and Emre what she saw and heard in Yigit's hospital room last night. Emre was in shock. He asked Sanem if she was sure she heard and saw right. Sanem told him she was absolutely positive, and his mother was involved. She needed to let Can know he was set up again by his own mother and Yigit. She told Emre that Can's cell phone was turned off and she had no idea where he went. Sanem started crying again. Leyla embraced her sister.

Sanem stopped eating. She stopped sleeping. She stopped showering. She just sat in her bedroom day after day. She was either crying or screaming like she was in pain. She would not talk to anyone, not even Leyla. Emre and Leyla were worried about her. She was slowly killing herself. Over the next few months, the agency went bankrupt and all the employees lost their jobs. Emre had to sell the house that him, Leyla and Sanem were living in just to pay the agency debts. All three ended up moving in with the Aydin's. Mevkibe and Nihat were scared for Sanem. She was still not eating properly. She refused to talk to anyone. She stayed in her room. She wouldn't shower. All she did was cry or scream. She came downstairs one day while the family was eating dinner. They tried to get her to sit and eat with them, but she just shook her head. She headed out the door. She walked to the rocks. She sat there and cried her eyes out to sea. She started screaming at the top of her lungs. She started beating her legs with her fists. Emre and Leyla decided to look for her when they heard her screaming. They found her on the rocks. She was beating her legs with her fists. They ran to her. Emre sat behind her and held her. He held her arms so she would not be able to hit herself anymore. Sanem fought to be free. Leyla grabbed Sanem's face and with tears in her eyes, she begged Sanem to stop. Sanem looked at her sister but wasn't really looking at her. Leyla saw nothing in Sanem's eyes. No light, no recognition, no life. That scared Leyla more than anything. Emre held his sister-in-law until her screams subsided. He helped her up and all three walked back home.

When Mevkibe and Nihat saw Sanem they knew they had to do something. Sanem was on the verge of death. They could see it in her eyes. Sanem went to her bedroom. Nihat and Mevkibe went to their youngest daughter. They found Sanem sitting on her bed ripping her clothes into shreds. She had emptied her closet and was destroying everything. Nihat grabbed his daughter's hands to make her stop. Sanem started screaming again and flailing around like an injured bird. Nihat grabbed his daughter and held her tightly until she calmed down. Nihat and Mevkibe had no choice but to take her to the hospital. Emre, Leyla, Mevkibe and Nihat accompanied Sanem to the hospital. She was admitted to the mental hospital for a breakdown. Emre tried again and again to reach his brother, but with no luck. Out of desperation, Emre called his father to let him know what was going on. Aziz was upset to hear Can had ran away, the shape that Sanem was in, the company going bankrupt and the selling of their home. Aziz said he would hire a private detective to see if Can could be located.
