EPISODE 62

Delivery Day

Sanem woke up before Can. She was so big and uncomfortable, she barely slept anymore. She rolled out of bed and padded to the bathroom. Once done, she waddles to the kitchen to make some tea. Her back was aching terribly. Once her tea was done, she carried it to the balcony. She loved sitting out there first thing in the morning. The air smelled so crisp and clean. She sat down on the outside couch and breathed in the fresh air. Can has been staying home with her this past week, since she was so close to delivering the twins. She was glad he was here. She missed him when he was away at the agency. He has been rubbing her aching back and feet almost daily. He loved spoiling her. Sanem heard Ates let out a squeal from his bedroom. She got up and waddled her way to his bedroom. He had pulled himself up in the crib and was bouncing up and down. Sanem got his diaper changed and then put him on the floor. He immediately crawled his way into Sanem and Can's bedroom. Sanem followed him. He pulled himself up using the bed. He started tapping his dad in the back. Sanem tried not to laugh. Can didn't budge. Ates grabbed some of Can's hair and started yanking on it. Ates was saying da da over and over. Can finally rolled over to see who was yanking on his hair. Can smiled and picked Ates up and put him in bed with him. He started giving Ates raspberries which got Ates giggling. Can looked over at Sanem and asked if she was alright. Sanem told him she was fine, except her back was aching bad. She told Can she would go start some breakfast.

Sanem went to the kitchen and started making french toast and sausage. Once it was done, she put everything on the table and called for Can. Can, carrying Ates, entered the dining room. Sanem was pouring juice for all three of them. Ates was using a sippy cup now. They finally got him broke from the bottle. Can put Ates in his highchair and then sat down with Sanem. Can told her breakfast looked yummy, but he didn't want her wearing herself out. Sanem told him she had to do something. She hated just sitting around. Can told her he understood. After breakfast, Can cleaned up the kitchen and Sanem took Ates and put him in his playpen. She sat down on the couch and propped her aching feet up.

Once Can got the kitchen cleaned up, he went to make their bed. When he finished that, he jumped in the shower and got dressed for the day. Mihriban and his dad were coming to get Ates and keeping him until Sanem had the twins. The doctor told them Sanem could go into labor anytime now. This way, if it happened during the night, Ates would already be with his dad and Mihriban. They should be there anytime now. Sanem had already packed a suitcase for their son. Can left the bedroom and went in search of his wife. He found her on the couch in the living area. Her feet were propped up and she was sound asleep. Can smiled at his beautiful wife. He grabbed a blanket that was folded over a chair and covered her up. She didn't even move. Soon, there was a knock on the door and Can went to answer it. It was his dad and Mihriban. Can welcomed them inside. As soon as Ates saw them, he started squealing and saying pap pap. This woke Sanem up and she smiled at everyone. She apologized for dozing off. Mihriban told her no apology was needed. She knew how tired and uncomfortable Sanem has been. Aziz brought Ates over to his momma so Sanem could hug and kiss him goodbye. She told Ates to be good for grandma and pap pap. Ates just smiled and babbled. Soon, Mihriban, Aziz and Ates left.

Sanem was still on the couch. She had no energy to even move. Can had sat down beside her and put her feet in his lap. He started rubbing her aching feet. Can told her it wouldn't be long now, and their daughters would be here. Sanem smiled and said she knew. She asked him if he was missing the agency. Can told her he was a little, but he was where he wanted to be...here with his beautiful wife. Sanem smiled and told him she loved him. Can told her he loved her too. They sat there and watched a little television. Soon, Sanem was fast asleep once again. Can laid his head on her legs and fell asleep also.

Sanem woke up startled. She was hurting bad. She gently removed her legs from underneath Can and stood up. It took everything in her just to do that. She slowly waddled her way towards the bathroom. Her back felt like somebody had beat her with a large brick. She stopped walking due to a sharp pain in her stomach. She was frozen in pain. All of a sudden, she felt a gush of water pour out of her. Then the pain was too much to bear and she let out a sharp yell. Can jumped off the couch. He was confused at first and didn't realize where he was. He heard his wife yell out once again. He ran looking for her. She was standing in a pool of water in the middle of the hallway. Can ran to her and asked if she was OK. Sanem told him she was in labor. Can grabbed her overnight bag and the twins' bag. He also grabbed Sanem's purse and his keys. He picked Sanem up bridal style and carried her to the truck. He realized he had no shoes on, so he ran back into the house and grabbed his sneakers. He put them on while he was running back to the truck. He jumped in the truck and they were headed to the hospital. Once they arrived, he jumped out and headed to the passenger side. He grabbed Sanem bridal style and entered through the emergency doors. He yelled that his wife was in labor. A nurse brought a wheelchair. Can said he would be right back. He had to move his truck. Once his truck was legally parked, he grabbed the overnight bags and headed back into the hospital.
