"Are you hungry?"
It was just Mark and I in the room they had me situated in. We were currently curled up watching a movie on the tv displayed on the wall. We both discovered we were cuddlers. His warmth wrapping my body felt like home. The skin ship was much needed.
"Mm, yes, a bit." I respond back. Tiredness was evident in my voice.
"Okay let's go get some dinner. Are you up for meeting everyone? Well, actually whoever shows up in the kitchen."
I sigh and nod my head. Might as well get it over with. I mean, if I'm going to be staying here, I'll have to come across them all eventually.
"If it gets too stressful, just let me know. Okay?"
I nod my head again. We both untangle ourselves from each other and the blanket before making our way downstairs.
Thankfully, there weren't too many people in the kitchen. I only recognized Taeyong and Jaehyun sitting at the table eating, but there were a couple of others, who didn't seem to be paying much attention to our arrival.
Mark stands next to me, his hand interlocking in mine for reassurance. "So, you know Tae and Jae. There's Xiaojun, Sicheng, but we call him WinWin, Yuta, Jungwoo, and Johnny." I nod as he goes through each person.
"Oh! Hi, Haechan!" I smile softly at Jaehyun. Everyone's eyes turn towards me.
"Guys, this is Haechan. He's going to be staying with us so please make him feel welcome." I lean more into Mark's arm as the feeling of being watched started to intimidate me a little.
A chorus of greetings come from the newly introduced group of people. They seemed friendly enough, so I let my guard down slightly.
Mark looks towards me, "I'll go make us some food, okay?" I nod before finding a seat at the kitchen table across from Jaehyun and Taeyong. The Johnny guy decides to sit by us, too. He stares at me for a moment, making my face turn red from embarrassment. "Uh-"
"Want to hear the story of how my dad created coffee?"
My eyes widen in curiosity. "He did?"
Yuta comes over with Sicheng, sitting on the other side of the table from us. "Don't listen to a single word that comes out of that clown's mouth. It's nice to meet you. I promise we're all really nice. Well, except for this loser."
"Yah! I am not a loser. I'll have you know, back in America, I was the coolest kid on the block." Johnny glares at Yuta, which causes him to smirk and then burst out laughing.
"You wish!"
The two continue bickering with each other, making me giggle to myself. I wonder if everyone else is like this? How many people live here? This place is huge! I mean they had two tables to sit at, both seating about ten people each. Also, how long have they been living here? Don't they have families to go home to? I sometimes wish I had a family to go home to. Jaebum was all I had. I hope he's not too mad at me. He knows how much I hated it there.
A plate of food placed in front of me brings me out of my thoughts. I look up at Mark and thank him. He responds back with a warm smile causing my insides to melt.
Mark, Xiaojun, and Jungwoo join us at the table. It felt nice to have all of this company. I continued to listen to the bickering, Mark and Jaehyun now joining, as I enjoy the food Mark made for me.
"Woah. What the fuck, Haechan?" I realize what I was doing and immediately knock the fork down from midair. "Uh, I can explain."
