"Are we all ready yet?"

Everyone that was going on this mission were all scrambling around to finish getting theirselves dressed to go to this banquet. It was total chaos as everyone ran around, shouting at each other.

I sat on my bed, dressed in my stiff suit and fidgeting with the jacket sleeves. There were these incessant thoughts bouncing in my head. What if I see him there? What if he sees me? Does he even remember what I look like? What if this all goes wrong?

A knocking sounds throughout my room. "Come in," I reply.

Taeyong peeks his head into my room. When he notices the look of unease and fear adorned on my face, he immediately walks in, closing the door behind him.

He crouches down in front of me. "Hey, this is going to be okay. I promised you that we would keep you protected. We're going to get through this easily and then we'll all come back home right after."

I barely move my head in a tiny nod.

"Okay, how about this: what if after everything is all done and settled, we come home and binge watch some Disney movies while eating ice cream, okay?" He looks up at me with hope and a soft smile.

I nod, mirroring his smile, as well. He's right, everything's going to be okay. They're a strong gang.

"Now, come on. Let's go meet the others downstairs. I'll have Mark take you separately so you can have sometime to calm down before we get there."

I simply nod and follow him out.

This was it. Time to face my dark past and destroy it.

Mark found me and took his hand in mind. It seemed to calm me down a lot, which I was grateful for. "I've never been to a party before. What's it like?" I ask out loud.

Johnny was nearby, immediately responding to my question. "So, basically, what you want to do is find the alcohol, okay? And then-"

"Johnny, no." Taeyong walks up behind him. "You are staying sober. This is a mission."

"But Mom!"

Taeyong rolls his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips as he walks out the front door with everyone following him.

The car ride was spent in silence. Mark's hand was holding mine over the center console. It was both peaceful, but also the tension was thick. The fear of the unknown was high and I couldn't stop shaking.

"Hey, it's going to be okay, Channie. They usually go by quickly. We're going in, and if things get too much for you, just come stay in the car. It's better to just be safe."

"No," I say looking at him. "I appreciate that, but I need to help. I need to go through with this."

This was something for me. I needed to do this to get rid of the demons of my past.

"We're here." Mark lightly pulls his hand away to turn off the car and I make my way out.

It was a huge banquet hall that had pillars at the front entrance. So many were filling into the building, all wearing a black and white color scheme along with a mask adorning their faces.

I had put my mask on when we were back in the car, but I still couldn't help feeling exposed and vulnerable. My heart was pounding and my breath was becoming quicker. He could be anywhere.

"Hey," a soft voice interrupts the tyrant thoughts in my head. A familiar hand entangles into mine. I was still staring straight ahead, the beating from my heart still a loud booming in my ears.

"Channie, can you look at me?" I glance up at him with wide eyes, finally breaking my trance. "Breathe for me, please?" I nod quickly and take a deep breath. I can do this.

"Let's go find the others."

We find the others a little further from the building than where our car was. We needed to hide for a moment to enforce our plan and make sure everyone knew what they were doing.

"Mark and Johnny, you guys are going to the balconies. Haechan, you're coming with Kun and I. I need to keep you in my sight for now. Yuta, Doyoung, and Ten, I want you guys to head in first and make sure everything is clear."

Everyone nods and we begin to take action. The first three were already heading to the entrance. I notice the lack of guests in the parking lot. It must be started already.

Mark let's go of my hand and I let out a small whine. He looks at me and giggles. "It's okay, Channie. I'll see you soon okay?" I nod at him. Before he goes to where Johnny is, he walks back to me and surprises me with a deep kiss. I smile widely as the feeling of warmth filled me and distracted me from the nerves.

"If anything does happen, I love you, Haechan. Okay?"

My eyes grow wide and the smile becomes even bigger. "I love you, too, so much."

That answer seemed to satisfy him and he turns away.

Something didn't seem to right and a bad feeling kept nagging at me. I really hope that Taeyong and Mark are right about everything.
