The sound of feedback coming from a microphone had everyone's attention drawn to the dance floor where a certain tall, broad shouldered man stood, his black suit decorated with a gold trim along with a matching mask. He cleared his throat before making his announcement.
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen, welcome."
Taeyong's head twisted around, searching for a certain small boy with superpowers. He needed to be back, their plan was about to begin. His eyes looking everywhere, including the balconies, where Mark and Johnny we're positioned stealthily.
"I would like to thank you all for attending. I am very grateful. Before I let you continue on with your night, I want to introduce everyone to my latest success and my pride."
Someone walks out into the open dragging along a struggling person. Except, it wasn't just any person.
"No," Taeyong whispers.
"My son, Donghyuck."
The crowd begins applauding. The noise was merely a muffled buzz to the leader, though. His thoughts were clouded with worry and anger. How could he have been so careless?
"Taeyong, what do we do?"
He barely heard Kun's question whispered to him. He barely heard the questions being thrown at him through the ear piece. Everything was thrown off.
"He has super powers. Show them what you can do, boy."
Everyone stares in awe at the small boy.
Haechan was shaking from terror.
The man chuckles sadistically at the reaction of the boy in his hands. He had the upper hand finally.
There wasn't much time for anyone to process what had happened in the next moment.
A loud bang, followed by a bullet whizzing through the air caused the party goers to cease into silence before erupting into chaos.
"No. NO. WHO SHOT THAT? WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO FIRE YET." Taeyong began screaming into the ear piece. Kun attempted to rationalize with Taeyong so he can have a level head through this situation.
"Taeyong, instead of freaking out on everyone, we need to get back Haechan. They took him somewhere so we need to hurry."
Taeyong nods. "Whoever is closest to any exit needs to keep them guarded. Dreamies, keep a look out for any sign of Haechan in the cameras." After giving out directions in the ear piece, Kun and Taeyong set out to find their younger member.
They ended up splitting directions to cover more area. Kun decided to go the way he saw the lab owner head towards. It wasn't long before he heard more gun shots amidst the screams of the innocent attendees.
Despite seeming calm to Taeyong, Kun was actually a ball of nerves. They were supposed to protect Haechan. They were supposed to keep him safe. He knew this was a terrible idea from the start. The younger was put in a vulnerable position the moment they entered the venue.
He ran through different sets of hallways, opening different doors that lead to empty rooms and dead ends. Where could they have gone in this short period of time?
Kun stops for a moment to think, but he quickly catches the faintest sound of the end of a conversation down the next hall over. Without any hesitation, he sprints to the source of what he assumes is his target.
He finds himself at yet another dead end and no evidence of anybody being here at the end of this hallway. This can't be right. They were here just a moment ago. He felt like he was playing a game of cat and mouse with a large disadvantage. Minutes were passing by quicker as he roamed the area, trying to find any door that would open and lead him the correct direction.
He grew frustrated and right as he was about to give up to go down another hallway, a strangled, distant shout entered his ears. Kun almost missed it, but quickly turned on his feet towards the sound. It was him, it was definitely Haechan.
Wasting no more time, he finds the door that he hadn't properly checked as it was locked. He takes a running start and rams into the door with his shoulder as hard as he could. Haechan's screams were deafening even through the heavy wood door. He needed to hurry.
As soon as he finally gets the lock on the door to break, Kun pushes his way in to find Haechan tied up in a chair, visibly shaking and gasping for breath. It looked as if he originally had a cloth gagging his mouth shut, but the cloth now hung around his neck.
Kun quickly unties the younger from the contraption he was set into and as soon as he was set free, Haechan bursts out crying, grasping onto the older for dear life.
"I'm here now. Shh, Haechan, it's okay. He can't hurt you now."
That statement causes him to sob harder. "Kun," he tries to get the words out. "I-I, he hurt m-me."
Kun leans away from the boy quickly to analyze him. There was a small stain of blood forming on Haechan's forearm along with some of the clothing slightly tattered. The man cut him with something.
"Okay, don't worry. I have some bandages in my jacket." He reached into the inside breast pocket of his suit jacket and pulled out a small first aid kit, immediately mending the wound.
It didn't take long for him to finish and they soon made their way back to the main area to try to reconnect with the others.
